Colt is our best option until he gets hurt.

Colt has always gotten hurt.

It will be as exciting as it was today. He always plays like his hair is on fire.

Then it's over.
serious question, albeit probably not really likely. Are there any CFL qb's that could come in as a backup. I have no clue how competent they are, but going against TJYates, EJ Manuel, and the other cast of qb's there might be a better option up north.
Johnny Manziel?

Yeah right, he couldn’t even play in the CFL

With the Redskins injury curse and his bad knees?

The guy mentioned CFL QBs, he was the only one I know, it was sarcasm.
Could have still won the game if not for the bullshit call on Norman and the non-call on Doctson.
If Doctson makes that catch he doesn't get out of bounds and time runs out, if that wasn't the reason for the non call I don't understand the lack of a flag. Doctson got mugged well before the ball arrived.

The fact that we are 0-4 when we don't score first is crazy

There are positives from the game.
Preston Smith made two big plays. He needs to build on this momentum.
The team didn’t quit and the D had them in position to win the game.

Ok back to the bottle.

Mason Foster made some plays, but I went back and watched the game again, all defensive plays, and he repeatedly took himself out of the equation on a number of big running plays. He took terrible angles, kept getting sucked up in the middle while the RB bounces outside, ran straight into blocks unnecessarily...not a good overall performance.

Yeah Mason didn't have a good game, and because he doesn't have good speed it shows when he isn't playing perfect in terms of angles and positions.

But saying he's too slow to play ILB is absurd IMO (not you but I read that somewhere in the thread).
When Mason plays well he's one of our most valuable player: smart as F, tackling machine, excellent in coverage...
(Oh and BTW he had 2 turnovers yesterday...)

Plus Ryan Anderson is really coming along at OLB, why change it? I was thinking he should move to OLB in a 4 - 3 last year but this year he took a huge way forward at OLB in our 3 - 4 system.
Alex was the starter, I supported Alex. Colts the starter now, lets go Colt. Both Alex and Colt seemed to like Quinn in the slot. I think he could make a big impact. I imagine Colt and Reed have a very good chemistry as well. Those two thing alone may be that extra oomf to get the Skins more points.

The defense has 18 takeaways, 3rd in the nfl. I dont know if that includes todays turnovers but either way they are a strong defense and we have a strong shot at the playoffs. Hopefully Chicago wins tonight, if so the only bad result for us was the dallas win and we simply need to beat them Thursday.
This.

Plus, with the way Alex had been playing I don't think we'll see a huge drop off in production...
And, don't know how long that effect can last, but the whole team and Jay seemed to be both electrified by the challenge AND excited to play with and call play for Colt McCoy.

I really thought Gruden's play calling was gutsy and effective after Alex went down (minus the disastrous 2 plays in a row to lose the game).

I think this loss can make us feel better about this team than some of our wins (WTF am I saying ? Losing sucks... but you see my point).

I get it man. I actually feel pretty good going forward. Don't like seeing Alex go down like that, but this team can still make some noise, and they will.

Agree...he does have a tendency to take himself out the play.

Also, the quinton Dunbar injury isn’t good. Is there a timetable?

mooby 11-19-2018 07:42 AM

Re: Texans Postgame

Dunbar's injury timetable looks like this:

Good: Could be back, no idea when as there is no set timetable for returning from nerve injuries.

Bad: Kyshoen Jarrett.
