Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I'm in a Survivor League and I normally pick "sure things" each week, which generally means I avoid the Redskin game. Last week the Texans over the Dolphins was just too easy, but honestly this Redskins@Rams game seems like a candidate this week. I don't know the line, but I just think the Skins have more talent and after 60 minutes it will just play out. Another factor for us long suffering Skins fans is the fact that the Skins haven't been able to put points on the board in the past few years for squat! I think win or lose that changes this year and 24-30 points a week will be the norm. I don't think the Rams can score more than 14 points on the Redskins without a ton of turnovers.

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I'm in a Survivor League too and picked the Skins this week. Aside from the TB and Vikings games coming up, we won't have another "sure win" until Week 15 against the Browns. The schedule is about to get really tough around Week 5 against Atlanta.
On paper, this is our easiest game of the year. Of course, this is the NFL and any team can win any week. |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
Sorry, but the Rams secondary isn't that great. Courtland Finnegan is not as good as he once was, Janoris Jenkins is a rookie, and their safeties are abysmal. Their front is made up of mediocre linebackers, 2 guys on the DLine, with Quinn, who didn't even start for them last year, and then of course Long the All Pro. I feel that we are going to kick the living shit out of them, due to the fact that they are drained from almost getting a win, but coming up empty handed last week. Meaning for them? That this year will be no different for them than last year. Their offensive line is going to absolutely collapse, and for those of you that like to "predict" injuries, If any quarterback is going to get hurt this game, I'd put my money on Bradford.
Skins make a statement as a true contender for the NFCE crown this week, while all the other three teams in our division lose close games. Skins 42 Rams 22 |
The Rams secondary benefited from playing Stafford who slings the ball more often then looking for accurate shots.

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
It didn't hurt that the rams had intimate knowledge of the lions playbook and Staffords tendencies from 2 players on their current roster. Im sure they helped out with recognizing the looks and plays called. Just sayin'. Not saying that Fisher didn't make them better, just that I think that they overachieved after watching their game yesterday. Lots of holes in their defense that the lions did not exploit. Lets remember that preparing for RG3 is much different than that of Stafford. Mobile with a huge arm, above average accuracy and alot of good receivers, versus non mobile with a huge arm average accuracy and only one great receiver.
That with the way we played on Sunday, I still hold to the blowout. That close loss had to take some wind out of their sails. |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
IMO -- two of the three picks should not have been thrown and were really bad reads by Stafford. RG3 had a ball that should have been picked off in the end zone but was dropped so hopefully he irons that out.
I agree that there is a let down factor but going up against the Rams in St. Louis just isn't as intimidating as going against the Saints in the Superdome. That's why the offense doesn't have to play as well as they did against the Saints to win the matchup. Secondly, the Saints offense scored 25 points on the defense and Drew Brees had a pretty good game statwise (~340 Yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTS -- one of which was on the last hail mary so doesn't really count). His weapons included Graham, Colston, Sproles which along with their awesome OL is not even comparable to the Rams offense. This stinks of a possible letdown game which will end up being a lopsided affair in the Redskins' favor. HTTR |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
This one is all about the defense and the running game. Redskins put up 250+ yards rushing with a three-headed attack and the defense keeps the Rams to under 250 total yards. Skins win 27-12
