Ask Peyton how mental playing qb is. While i agree he has less time to throw then Tiger has to hit the ball, i'm sure Peyton spends more time watching film and going over gameplans.
yeah but not just him his entire team! That is the key difference. I think team sports don't compare to individual ones in terms of the mental aspect. They just cant. There are others to put the weight on with a team. There is no way to argue against that IMO. |
I know we all like to hate on Romo and rightly so but he is a very good golfer....he had potential as a pro-golfer actually.
Shhhhh....what the hell is wrong with you? Are you trying to mess up a good thing here? You might get it into his head that he could actually be successful at something & leave the Cowboys & then what? We'll have to deal with a REAL QB in Dallas for a change... ....wait, what am I saying? He can't read....nevermind. :D |

Maybe not....but I keep finding myself coming back to this thread for some reason. |
Re: Romo Plays w/ Tiger in D.C? That ain't right.
QB is far and away the toughest position in all of sports.

Are you saying that reading constantly changing defenses while deciding whether to audible or not and trying to deliver the ball while 300 lb. linemen are trying to rip your head off with the occasional blitz of a LB, safety or DB whose sole purpose is to knock you into next week, is harder than trying to hit a ball in a hole while everyone is trying to be quiet so as not to break your concentration? Comeon Matty. What are you thinking man? |

Nah, it's tougher to step away and think about your next shot for 10 minutes, then take 20 practice swings, then grip, re-grip, grip, re-grip, step away and think some more, all with a crowd so quiet you can hear a pin drop. LOL |

A pro golfer couldnt play QB and a pro QB couldnt play on the PGA tour. Each sport has its own unique skill set and IMO its hard to say that playing one sport is tougher than the other. It could be argued that hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in sports. Its all relative and they are all tough to do. |
Re: Romo Plays w/ Tiger in D.C? That ain't right.
A pro QB would stand a better chance at trying to be a pro golfer than a pro golfer would trying to be a pro QB.
Yes they do have different skill requirements and I'm not trying to knock golfers, but in my opinion I can't imagine anything being more difficult in pro sports than playing QB. And that includes hitting a baseball. The split second decision making, the ability to read a defense, the knowledge required to play the position, the leadership, the guts and courage, the physical skills, etc. To be a top flight QB you have to have it all. Nothing compares IMO. |
Re: Romo Plays w/ Tiger in D.C? That ain't right.
During the match I saw Romo on TV and wondered why he's getting all this attention. Oh well, anything to add to the pressure of playing in the NFL. If Romo hs his mind on golf and Jessica, maybe we'll slaughter the Cowboys.
