Re: Your thoughts "IF" Shanahan were to replace Zorn in 2010
Article is moronic. THe Cutler ordeal, should have folks in the know by now in that they should see the handwriting is on the wall for Zorn and/or JC. It is now apparent that the Danny has made it known that it is playoffs or bust for these two(at least one of them anyway). Personally I would like to see Zorn get 3 years, but then again if he just plain isn't getting anywhere with JC and co it probably won't matter if he did stick arround for year #3. And in fairness to the Danny, if this season is mediocre, I myself would be tempted to pull the plug on this WCO nonsense also. IF we are even thinking about keeping JC, we should get a Run N gun or something that plays to his cannon arm, not shorter stuff, or if we decide to go after McCoy or Bradford. WCO is old news!!!!!

Cowher. Ughh.
I'll never understand the hype about him. He's an overblown, overrated guy who took forever to win, lost a bunch of home playoff games, and benefitted from a well run franchise that had a front office with brains. He will do nothing but be a let down to whichever team overpays for him. |
Re: Your thoughts "IF" Shanahan were to replace Zorn in 2010
If I owned the team I would 1) lure Parcells here in whatever capacity he desires 2) leave the rest to him. I mean it. This IMO is the only worthwhile "startover" scenario.

NEver will happen with Snyder Goat. Marty actually has a fire lit under his 2000 team and Snyder still couldn't relinquish control. I agree with you, but Snyder would committ hari cari before that would happen. IF I was owner I might try and make amends woth Marty if he still wanted to coach. |

I know...but I've spent a fair bit of time dreaming about how things could be different since the Sanchez thing forced me to leave reality LOL. |
Re: Your thoughts "IF" Shanahan were to replace Zorn in 2010
Maybe we're going to draft Sanchez and bring in Dan Reeves!! (if I remember right, Reeves was helping him prepare for the pros earlier this year)

Cowher was all but gone and then Ben R came along and he finally had a QB to get the team over the hump. |
Of course this would IMO only depend on how this season unfolds. Your early thoughts on Shanahan.
Do you think the SKINS make a play for him next season. With all the recent Cutler noise it certainly makes you wonder if he isn't already in the forefront of Dan's thinking/hiring OR wish list process? And does Zorn really have a fair chance to succeed here in DC? Your thoughts? Shanahan Eventually To Surface With ‘Skins? Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2009, 9:59 p.m. As the Washington Redskins continue to prepare for the second year of the Jim Zorn era, we’re hearing ongoing chatter that, come 2010, the head coach of the team will be former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. Of course, the ‘Skins might not end up getting a clear shot at Shanahan. With Cowboys coach Wade Phillips entering the final year of his contract and a new deal unlikely, Jerry Jones likely will be looking for a new head coach, too. In the end, Shanahan’s final destination might come down to money. Specifically, the question will be the extent to which any team is willing to exceed the $7 million that Shanahan is due to receive from the Broncos regardless of whether he works next season. So maybe, just maybe, the team’s flirtation with USC quarterback Mark Sanchez has less to do with making an impact in 2009, and more to do with helping set the table for Shanahan in 2010.
I wish Synder wasn't such a coward. If he wants to bring Shanahan in then why wait? He should have Shanahan on the staff as a consultant or advisor or QB coach right away then traded for Cutler. I don't like it, because its not the right way to go about business. |

And bringing Shanahan in now would only be more ridiculous. Not to mention, Shanahan is not interested in being with a team this year. |
Re: Your thoughts "IF" Shanahan were to replace Zorn in 2010
My hope is that coach Zorn is our guy for years to come! I am sick of getting a new head guy every few years. To started over again and again is getting old! Let's started doing things the right way by drafting good young players and getting him players he needs to win! I really hope Shanahan is not here a year from now because this could get really bad fast!

Snyder has the football equivalent of ADD/ADHD.
