Re: Go Ravens!!!!!!!
LOL......nice thread,how's it working out for ya?:goodjob:
:laughing2 That's funny. Congrats Giantone. I must admit ya'll surprised me with the way you ran on the Ravens. When the physical play of the NFC East was brought up, Harbaugh said, "We like to think we play pretty physical too." I think they were shown something today. Congrats again. Looking forward to our meeting in FedEx. |

Yes. I was surprised how well than ran on the Ravens defense. Pretty impressive. |
Re: Go Ravens!!!!!!!
I argued with a Ravens fan, all week that the Redskins defense was better than thier 4th place suggests. The offenses that we have faced are far better than the Ravens have faced. I am still hoping for a miracle.
Nah, we're probably nowhere near what that #4 rank suggests.
We HAVE played a bunch of good offenses, but we've also played a lot of inept offenses as well. In fact, we've played nothing but inept offenses since we played Philly over a month ago. Overall, our competition has been pretty close to league average. Last year, our pass defense was phenominal. This year, not so much. The combination of less cover two/more man coverage, plus Fred Smoot's play being far, far worse, plus Landry not exactly being Sean Taylor back there, it's opened up a bunch of big plays in the passing game for teams that aren't that great at throwing the football. We have 4 great players in our secondary: Rogers, Springs, Horton, and Landry, but if we're missing even one of them, there are huge gaping holes in our secondary that can be exploited. |
Re: Around the NFL week 11
Norv Turner loses ANOTHER close game. Imagine that.

Laugh at McNabb:
Rich Hofmann: NFL overtime rules? Don't ask McNabb | Philadelphia Daily News | 11/17/2008 Eagles' quarterback admitted to not knowing that an NFL game could end in a tie. "No, I didn't know that," McNabb said at his postgame press conference. The 10-year veteran said he was not aware that one overtime is all you get in the NFL in the regular season until the final play of that overtime, when the Eagles tried an unsuccessful Hail Mary pass. He said, "When the play was called, I kind of figured, 'I guess there's ties in the NFL.' " He said, "I've never been a part of a tie. I never even knew that was in the rule book. It's part of the rules and we have to go with it. I was looking forward to the next opportunity to get out there and try to drive to win the game." Then McNabb compounded his error by not knowing the postseason overtime rule. Those games do play to a conclusion for obvious reasons, but McNabb said, "I hate to see what happens in the Super Bowl or I hate to see what happens in the playoffs. You have to settle with a tie." Uh, no. Several of his teammates, a couple of them veterans, also admitted to not knowing the rule. There was a brotherhood of the uninformed in that locker room, and that is worth mentioning here - not that it will matter. |
Re: Around the NFL week 11
i heard some radio callers on espn blasting mcnabb for not knowing that an nfl regular season game can end in a tie.that really is pretty ignorant!

As they should. He looked pretty foolish. Been in the NFL some ten years and doesn't know the rules for regular season play in regards to OT and the rules that apply.....but wait that's Reids fault? Thats actually hard to believe. Sidenote: IMO, I would have to think McNonabs time in shit hole land is coming to an end. Reid might be going out the door also. |
Re: Around the NFL week 11
Hard to believe that McNabb didn't know anything about sudden death OT. That's a real head scratcher.
Tough loss for Buffalo last night. I was really pulling for them. |

Re: Around the NFL week 11
i think Mcnabb not knowing doesn't really mean a whole lot. what could he have done differently? Reid calls the plays. but i agree, its pretty much the end of the road for both Reid and Mcnabb

Re: Around the NFL week 11
Is McNabb a captain? If so, every OT game, the ref explains the rules before tossing the coin. :D
