Check out his stats, very underwhelming. I just quickly scanned through all of his game logs and I didn't see a 100 yard game in there.
Here are his best games by season: 2007: 6-80 2006: 6-82 2005: 6-66-1 2004: 7-54 2003: 6-86
We need a trade! This crop of free agent WR's is not going to help us. |
Re: Bryant Johnson Scheduled to Visit Redskins
My question is why? They've had similar stats and Caldwell has been healthier than Hackett. I'm not saying either should be a number one, must like SS is saying. But I'm thinking let's not waste money on people like Hackett or Johnson in free agency and let's talk about the draft.
Caldwell has been around for several years and I think we've kind of seen what he is going to be. We're his 3rd team?? Good players don't tend of bounce around to 3 teams in 5 years. WR's like Caldwell are a dime a dozen. With Hackett we really don't know yet. I know when he was healthy last year he had some big games. That is why he's kind of on the radar because of his potential. But if we have to give Hacket a new deal and it's going to cost a lot of $ then I say we pass. I'd rather us get a DE and a guard and upgrade the WR's next year. |

This is what I'm saying in general. I think that because of the market this year, we're setting ourselves up to pay a lot for someone mediocre. That's why I think Caldwell might come cheaper than Hackett or Johnson. |
Re: Bryant Johnson Scheduled to Visit Redskins
I think Hackett has star potential. When healthy the guy produces, he just needs to get over that hump as far as injuries go. Here are some of his big games over the course of his career:
2007: Week 9: 6-58-1 Week 10: 8-101-1 Week 11: 9-136-1 Playoffs against the Skins: 6-101-1 2006: Week 12: 5-67-1 Week 14: 4-104-1 Week 15: 8-87 Week 17: 4-63-1 2005: Week 10: 2-78-1 Week 11: 6-67-1 |
You should start writing your posts that way :)
"Well I just put little Celt Jr. to sleep, took a while because he's hopped up on fruit punch Capri Sun. Might want to keep an eye on Bryant Johnson. Ok, that's all I got. I'm beat! Need a break. I'm gonna take a nap now."
That's funny:) I am not a JLC basher either for the most part. I just wish he would stop doing that or at least curtail it...it doesn't come off well IMO. |
Re: Bryant Johnson Scheduled to Visit Redskins
For Chad Johnson or Roy Williams I'd strongly, strongly consider it. I'd love to get a 4th rounder as well out of it though.
I wouldn't even do it for Chad cause all he wants is more $. Roy Williams is the only guy I'd give up the draft pick for cause he's younger. But I'm still not sure I'd give it up for Roy. Every starter on our O-line is 30+. Look at what happened to KC? They had a top 5 offense for how many years in a row? What happened when their O-line got old? It just killed them. Killed their whole offense cause they had no one waiting in the wings. Larry Johnson can't even get back to the LOS. Who's gonna block for CP when Kendall is out with sore knee's? Who honestly think's Thomas is going to hold up for 16 games? Sorry people, as much as we all want a #1 WR, it's not going to make a bit of difference when JC is lying on his back. We CAN NOT ignore the O-line another year. |
Re: Bryant Johnson Scheduled to Visit Redskins
Brandon Albert is looking pretty beast according to the scouts. I wouldn't be unhappy with that pick in the first.

Can't go wrong with UVa alums taken in the 1st/2nd round ... except maybe Jon Harris .... there aren't that many, but they are typically pretty good .... Wahoo Wa :) 2006 1 4 D'Brickashaw Ferguson T New York Jets 2005 1 30 Heath Miller TE Pittsburgh Steelers 2000 1 7 Thomas Jones RB Arizona Cardinals 1999 1 30 Patrick Kerney DE Atlanta Falcons 1998 2 50 Germane Crowell WR Detroit Lions 1997 1 8 James Farrior OLB New York Jets 1997 1 25 Jon Harris DE Philadelphia Eagles 1997 2 34 Jamie Sharper OLB Baltimore Ravens 1997 2 36 Tiki Barber RB New York Giants |

He's behind Bolden and Fitz! With the edge and Warners broken elbow those numbers are fine. You think he's going to get the first look on that team? He's a good solid player for a good price we take him and we're fine. Bringing in a huge contract for high draft picks is stupid and not going to happen. |

He's had plenty of opportunities to start (Boldin and Fitzgerald have missed stretches over the past two years) and never produced like either of them. The way the market is, you will have to overpay to get him. I don't know where you get that he is a "good price", you can't know that and all evidence would point in the opposite direction. |

Where you're drafted means nothing. I will admit that Fitz and Bolden are better players, we all will. Just b/c he's on a team with two other pro bowlers and couldn't start in front of them does not take anything away from him. What receivers have been signed so far in this FA period for huge dollars? Look at Lance Briggs, he tested the market and got no better offers than the Bears original. Its not that you're a FA its the position of need and he's not a NEED for Redskins just a luxury at this point, with our roster and draft picks we can afford to let the market come to us..... |

Players with higher draft status are typically given more opportunities than those from lower draft picks. That was my point. More imporantly, he was given an opportunity to start eight games in 2007 due to injuries and never produced more than 80 yards and averaged only 39.75 yards. By comparison, in the six games that D.J. Hackett started he had three 100 yard games and averaged 79.66 yards/game. |
