Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
!st - Spike the Ball to stop the clock.
2nd - Run the ball with Betts 3rd- Fake Spike Hit Moss or Cooley 4th- Play Action to Sellers, Hit Cooley |
Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
We shoulda brought in Lloyd as the sole WR (as everyone on earth knows he won't catch a TD), with the D thinking run all the way, lob it to him for the easy score.
By the way I am kidding. In reality, regardless of his earlier fumble CP shoulda been in there, 21 TDs in his last 22 games - the guys got a nose for the endzone. Also, does no-one fake spike anymore? Hows about running up to the line screaming "spike" and with the D not fully committed as they are assuming spike we get a yard or 2 seperation and "BAM" (in a Dan LeBatard style) there you have it. |
The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!! We were 5-11 last year people! When did this sense of entitlement begin?? Sure we let one get away yesterday that we should have won, but we're 2-1!!!!!
Of course the sky is not falling, but it was raining on a day that was forecasted to be sunny and beautiful for the redskins. It is a little disheartening and at the very least disappointing, that the redskins lost because of the way that the season was going- until the 2nd half of the giants game. On the positive side though, realistically the redskins can be a great team THIS season - if they understand and work on the problems that arose during the 2nd half of the giants game. |
Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
Remember, clock is running, no timeouts, less than 1:15 to play...
1st down-Rollout right, try to get Cooley in the back of the end zone 2nd down-fake Sellers dive, flip to Portis sweep left 3rd down-spike 4th down-4 wide shotgun with Cooley as a WR, roll right, try to find Cooley along the back of the end zone or run for the pylon.. |
Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
i would have thrown a pass on a rollout.somebody would have bound to have gotten open.or they could have thrown a pass to samuels on a lineman turned/tackle eligible play.

Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
Even after those plays failed you would still run them? And you would substitute a smaller back in Portis for Betts to run over people? and then you would run a slant off tackle with a stacked D-line waiting for it? Nice!!!!!!
Offiss, funny how you haven't been around to praise Gibbs et al after the victories. Would you be happy with anything less than the return of Spurrier and Ramsey? |

It's even funnier how you selectively don't pay attention. And even funnier that you would anoint Gibbs after 2 games against teams that are not that good who were in position to tie, or beat us in the final 2 minutes, or in OT, this last game against the Giants is exactly why I didn't, or wont jump on that bandwagon until it actually arrives, I wanted to make sure a different Gibbs was in the house now that we have a real QB, but unfortunately it's the same old story we have been watching since his return, he treats the football like it was made of plutonium, we lost to the worst of the 3 teams we have played blowing a 14 point lead at home in the second half, what a complete an utter joke. But your more than welcome to pick up the old pom poms and perform a few routines for gibbs by all means.:woot: Make no mistake about it, the Giants didn't beat us, Gibbs rolled out the red carpet and handed that victory to them, his charity work never stops. |
Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
JC, QB sneak over the left side on 1st down insted of spiking it, game tied.
|
Re: First and goal on the one yard line, what would you do?
First down: spike:need some time 2 think!
second down: fun mik e sellers if third down: sneak with jason if fourth: sneak jason but mike would have got it in on second! |

Does that mean you're going to piss all over the team until what? They go to a Super Bowl? Then you'll jump right on board and say "I've been a fan for over 30 years, blah blah blah" "I knew it all along because I'm a football man, blah blah blah." Really, I'd like to know what you (and others who have said similar things) mean. |

We're 2-1, there are a lot of teams right now that would love to be 2-1. Just ask the Saints how 0-3 feels. |

That's your response? Somehow I'm not surprised. This is why you are without question one of the least, if not the least, respected member on this board. (For those that have any respect for you) You make people want to break every rule about valuing other opinions, and no personal attacks. |
1st: portis middle
2nd: sneak 3rd: bootleg 4th: portis up the gut
Naked bootleg! Yes...Jason Campbell is fast enough for this to work. Maybe we'll see this play in the future. With-in the 5yd line and executed properly, very hard to stop. |
