Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
I am concerned that A. Carter has not been a factor as a pass rusher in two games .
Excellent point, and it probably hasn't been made enough. Carter, and the D-line has applied about as much pressure on the quarterback as it did the last two seasons -- not nearly enough. While they haven't been on the field all that much in the last two games, they played the full first half last night and didn't look much better. |

Its gonna get worse if Griffin misses some time also |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Campbell's arm is ridiculous, he leans back too often though like he's shooting a fadeaway jumper or something. But man, what an arm
Was it just me or after the first play from scrimmage on offense when Betts got stuffed did Thomas raise his hands as if to say "What the hell play are we running?" Like there was some miscommunication I'm not worried about the offense really, but the special teams is abysmal. |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Our back-ups are the worst back-ups in the league. They are all horrible outside RB and WR. I like the depth we are adding to the backfield but all those players couldn't even come close to handling a number 1 WR in this league. I don't understand when or how our depth sucks so bad. Our back-up o-line is disgusting. DISGUSTING.

I was at the game and when grif was on the groud i didn't know who it was because the trainers were crowding him. I called up a friend at home he said it was griffin and they went to break. After a few minutes griffin gets up and runs back to the sideline. Actually runs, i am not sure if that was on tv. After the game griffin was golf carted to his car. |

Nemo, Farris, White were out there. Hell Kary campbell wasn't even out there on that play and he is one of our best Special Teamers. Nor was Sellars |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Yeah I thought that too regarding our special teams actually. Still I imagine some of those guys that played on special teams yesterday will be on the team.
I take solace in knowing things will be better when The Ade returns |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
yes its all about the Ade. Yes some of them will be. When is the first set of cuts? Anyone know

Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Lets hope that they turn it up a notch when the season really begins on September 11 ! The good news is that if Brunell plays well and Campbell improves through practice < maybe some game time > this season , we should be strong at all but backup O - Line and D Line . Vinny , if you read this ,,, draft a pass rusher next year ,,,,, PLEASE :)

Even if Carter plays up to potential, Daniels and Wynn are getting much older.
Maybe we need O-line help more. Thats not a job for the first round though. |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
We'll trade all our picks away before the draft so don't bank on that.

Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Positives for me:
* The Campbell era continues to accelerate (and F his passer rating, Patten short-armed a few and dropped a couple more, that guy should basically be traded now) * Two words and a profanity: MIKE FSCKING SELLERS. It's *criminal* that nobody has bothered handing off to this guy all this time. Seriously, he was PANCAKING dudes on his way to the first down marker, and you could tell he was loving every minute of it. Ladell and Rock are all fine and good, but for my money I would be making a lot more use of Sellers if I was Saunders. Not to mention, we already know he can catch. * Mike Rumph didn't look quite so much like a former first round bust last night. Maybe that bitter Niners fan who's always in here whining about Lloyd got it wrong after all, because that guy unloaded pretty nicely on a couple of key plays. * Randle-El. Nuff said. * Buck Ortega! Awesome, "Mexican Food meets Porn Star" name, and hey, you can never have too many TE's on your roster, right? Questions: * Where's Andre Carter? * Where's Cooley? * Where's Robert McCune? He had a great game against Cincy, and seemed like a no-show tonight. * Which trick play is gonna burn us for a score next week? |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
Positives:
Collins looked good so long as he didn't have time to think. I felt as though he was under more pressure than Campbell and was able to get rid of it VERY quickly. Certainly no comparison to last week. Thrash after the catch. The 2nd-string OL and CBs look like they've played college ball (not like last week.) Some good catches in spite of hard contact. Sellers. (Is somebody having fun out there?) Buck Ortega. The cheerleaders. Negatives: Starting D. (They should have it together by now.) Starting offense. (This could be because they're learning the playbook, so I'm not too concerned.) Special teams. All the drops. Mostly agreeing with prior posts as far as the details. |
Re: Any Positives From Tonight's Game?
You forgot brunell's overthrows which there were 2 or 3
