Re: Jets interested in Betts?
I don't think anyone would give a 2nd for Ladell Betts.
|
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
they're probably pretty damn desperate, but I have to agree with you. Especially since it looks like someone like Chris Brown (who I swear runs like a ballerina) and/or Thomas Jones might be shopped around soon.

Re: Jets interested in Betts?
Let's snap back to reality for just a minute. A first round offer for Betts isn't going to happen. It's just not going to happen.
A second round offer is almost as improbable. There are more proven backs out there (Thomas Jones) that could be had. Now we're talking about a third round, and I think that's the absolute best we could hope for, but I don't even see that happening. This trade simply isn't going to happen. |
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
Exactly...Betts will be backing up C-Po.
"See? Where'd you learn that, Cheech? Drug school?" |

We have the chips in our favor to ask what we want so a second is not unreasonable |
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
I wouldn't trade Betts for anything less than a 1st rounder which, as has been noted, is a pipe dream. We're too close, on paper at least, to the "big game" to trade a starting-caliber tailback for anything less.

Re: Jets interested in Betts?
"Desperation is a stinky cologne" and the Jets are fairly desperate.
|
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
what I would take in return for Betts is, 12 ski mask's, a case of smoke bomb's the good kind, and banana peels, lot's of banana peels.

Damn I'm proud to know you, fantastic way to sneek that one in there (that's what she said [haven't used that one in like 2 years]) |
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
I say we trade Betts for Ramsey!!! I mean if Ramsey can just get in the right system......

How about Betts for Coles straight up? |
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
trade betts for vilma (kind of wishful thinking)
|
Re: Jets interested in Betts?
Why stop at Coles or Vilma? We might as well ask for Ellis, Ferguson, and Mangold.

Re: Jets interested in Betts?
There is no way Gibbs would ever ever ever ever ever ever ever trade Ladell Betts. Unless it was for two first rounders.
These rumors are stemming from either the Jets' front office who may simply be brainstorming, trying to think of teams with great RB depth; or from the Jets' fans/media who remember the recent trades and deals between the 'Skins and Jets, and think they might partner up for a deal once again. As soon as this issue is presented to Gibbs, I can 100% guarantee you his answer will be something to the effect of "Ladell Betts is not available." End of story.
So in other words Ladell Betts is a franchise player? Has he ever played a full season (in a backup role I might add)? If they offered a proven offensive lineman, I would pull the trigger immediately. |
