I'm hearing per my sources that we're interested in a certain Own Schmitt.
No, his first name is Giva. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Funny how Willie Smith and Maurice Hurt have been forgotten in the "who gets to play OL on the Washington Redskins" game. Good ****ing god, you're usually not going to see more than 9 linemen dressed a game. We're looking in the backup FA OL market, not the starter FA OL market, because our starters are basically entrenched for the near future.
Now now the heavy duty RGIII fans promised us not to panick that everything could be gotten in FA. There was no need to even begin to think negatively and assume anything bad will happen. Personally now that the FA OL pool has thinned, my 3rd round pick would be a RT. afterwards G, FS/SS, LB, CB. In any order after the 3rd pick. |

But I don't want Jamaal Brown to be "entrenched". I would rather him go back to New Orleans. |
Owen Schmitt anyone?
Yes , local kid . Young did play well last year , but WS is one tough dude ! |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Thank you!!!! No more wr's!!!! Get RG3 some damn blockers so he's not on his damn back. Hopefully they'll addresss it the draft if not FA. Kind of disappointing that Grubbs signed elsehwere. Would've rather had him then Josh Morgan.
I do like that we have added Wr's , but I want to have the best OL in the NFL and an elite Defense ...... a combination along with RG111 would be tough to beat for the next 5- 6 years . |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
My thoughts on Schmitt: He would be a good pickup if we can get him on a very reasonable contract. There is no reason to pay a lot for a FB because they can be had with a late round draft pick.
We only have one FB on the roster. It would be good to have a backup. IMO, what he brings is toughness and intensity. If he doesn't start, he would still be a beast on ST's. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Owen Schmidt is a monster. The mentality you want from a full back, mean nasty and will do what it takes to get the job done. he can run the ball, catch out of the back field and will do special teams work. If we signed him, he would instantly be a fan favorite. He has that kind of cult following personality. (spoken from a true WVU fan of course!)
Dont mention last night ass kicking by Gonzaga please. down right disgusting |
Didn't want Grubbs anyway... Wasn't a fit for the Zone Blocking Scheme
Grubbs did play in the zone blocking scheme with former oline coach that is here (i thought I remember hearing that from somewhere) |

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
had a question for everyone - what do you think is london fletchers value? If you were Bruce Allen, whats the maximum per year youd pay him?
Id try to resign him for 6MM. I wouldnt go higher than 7.5MM. |

the years dont really matter to me. whatever we paid him would only be "garaunteed "1-2 years as a practical matter. |
