Chargers agreed to terms with quarterback Charlie Whitehurst on a two-year contract Friday.

So basically the Chargers got two 3rd rounders for nothing...lol :laughing-
And people always want to talk badly about our FO, sometimes rightly so. But damn if the Seahawks didn't drop the ball on this trade big time.

This whole thing with Clipboard Jesus is probably the last thing the Browns or the Dolphins fans want to hear.

They had this little tid bit on walterfootball about Peyton Hillis in his free agent description:

"Update: Hillis reportedly has thought about quitting football to become a CIA agent. Umm... what? Teams will definitely question his dedication."
Who needs Winston, we got Willie Smith who I predict will be the RT for many years to come.
I would love it and part of me believes you're right.
Willie Smith has the physical skillset and measureables to fit in this scheme.

But, I don't want to end up taking Willie Smith potential for guaranteed.
I think its smart to get a solid RT that is a clear upgrade from Jammal Brown.
If we're drafting RGIII we owe it to him and to ourselves to keep him protected and Jammal Brown and Willie Smith is a huge and unneccesary risk.
Upgrade RT and if Willie Smith emerges great, there's no loss there.
But if we count and Willie Smith and he fails then we really hinder the productivity of RGIII.
Cowboys overspent for Carr... he's not worth 10 mil per
Where do you come up with 10 mil per year?

His guaranteed money is only 26 million. Thats all that matters anyway is the guaranteed money. They have the option to void the final year of the contract in 2013.

They can take his salary in 2013 and convert it to a signing bonus and prorate that over 3 years. Which means his total salary cap numbers will be over the next 4 years are 3.2 for 2012 and 4.2 mil over the next 3 years after that.

In fact, all 6 free agents the Cowboys have signed this year will only count 11 million against the cap this year.

I don't see where you come up with 10 mil/yr just for Carr though?

I don't see where you come up with 10 mil/yr just for Carr though?
It's thirty three million in years 1-3, so it's really $11 mil/year on Carr through the years where they can't move him b/c of the contract. After that point, it's two additional years at 8.5 mil, which is more reasonable.

Money is frontloaded because that's the only way he'd sign.

CRedskinsRule 03-17-2012 12:54 PM

In 2013 his base salary is 14mil per ESPN Dallas. That's an overpay but had to be done in order to get him. And they will certainly restructure it next year

Edit wrong year
