[quote=Longtimefan;787889]The Redskins officials conducting the interview included Snyder. Interesting when you're talking about a player projected to be less than a 1st round pick.

Not a dominating prospect in my opinion. |

I agree.......just thought Snyder was out of the business of conducting interviews. |

I think Kenrick Ellis and Jerrell Powe are just as good as Taylor, and just as capable of playing the NT position effectively as he would. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
NT is a very hard position to pick, it's like drawing straws. Most drafts NTs Are 50-50

I think Steve Young said it best, to paraphrase him, DT (or NT) is a position in which desire determines success as much as anything. I know that could be said of any position, but the point he was making is that DT/NT's can have a thankless job, getting double-teamed, ending up on the bottom of a pile of 300+ lb. men. It would be easy to give up on many plays at that position, and that's what a lot of them get a bad rep for, e.g. Rogers, Haynesworth to name a couple. Taylor has the same rep to some degree. |

Well Haynesworth is not a 3-4 NT. And the team either needs to get a 3-4 NT veteran (but not another Kemo) or develop one from the draft. |

Agreed, though Bryant was a pleasant surprise late last year. |

I think Bryant could be what we are looking for. Get a serviceable FA NT or a late round project NT to rotate in with Bryant and I think we will be okay. We have so many needs I'd like to see them address with higher picks elsewhere. Or if we can get a steal for the NT kid from Baylor I'd be okay with that too. |

I think that the NT is the most important position in a 3-4. What this means is that you want more than a "serviceable" NT IMHO. To have a dominant 3-4 means having a dominant NT, not a "serviceable" NT. Sure, you can have a vanilla joe for rotational depth, but your #1 guy should be a monster. |

damn that's slow... but he's not going to earn his pay running around so no big deal |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
He's a slow Byron Leftwich. His release may be quicker than BL's though. Mallet does not look like a west coast qb. Al Davis is the most likely to nab him in the 1st round, unless he still is high on JC.

This seems to be an opinion that some analysts have voiced too, though I can't recall exactly who. It makes sense, a dominant NT makes the O mismatched right from/at the snap. |

Agreed. What we had last year were serviceable nose tackles. Time to find a stud. |

Byron was fast? |
