Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Quinn is a hybrid LB/DE similar to Orakpo, he is regarded as a top 3 Rusher

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
But the character issues. I don't wanna deal with some guy who parties till 4 in the morning and gets into major trouble.

His ability to go through blockers and get into the backfield is top class. [YT]CNoYxbvKxXE[/YT] His bull rush personally reminds me a lot of Orakpo. If he develops a counter move or two he'll be unstoppable. |

Not character issues. He and his family accepted money and gifts from an agent, and initially Quinn didn't admit to it. But then did and admitted he was just scared of the repercussion and trying to protect his family. He's a good kid, who's been through a lot. His suspension reminds me in many ways of Jeremy Jarmon....what are the plans for him by the way |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Quinn IMO is not worth being selected #10. Not because of character but because he's too big 2 play Will or in a 3-4. He'll be a slightly above average DE in the NFL. Reminds me of a young Phillip Dainels.

To me Quinn is an Orakpo clone. If anything a guy that can move like him at his size and play the will is a huge luxury. From what I've seen he uses that same bull rush that frequently gets Orakpo held. In his last season he had 11 sacks along with 19 TFL (which is counted separately). That is not your traditional anchor left end/Daniels prototype. Also his "character" issues are vastly overstated. It's sad that a guy like Cam Newton gets to play all season but someone like Quinn is suspended for the entire season.
Intangibles - 1 -Very humble about his abilities. Dedicated and passionate about the game. Recipient of ACC's Brian Piccolo Award in 2007 as league's most courageous player.
The real concerns about Quinn are as follows: 1. How is he in coverage? 2. How will he respond to a new level of competition after a year off at his previous level? 3. Is his Brain Tumor still benign? His ability to rush the passer and make plays in the back field on the other hand should be unquestioned. |

I was going to ask can he cover? Depending on how well he does in that area will determine whether he is a DE or a hybrid. Didn't know about the brain Tumor, hopefully that's gone. And lastly character, which I don't put much into. If you can play football and help your team win that's all that matters. But he was taking jewlery? C'mon. I have to wonder what he'll do when he gets that first big check. I could be wrong, but as a former college player, taking jewery over a chance to play the game of football just isn't cool with me. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I thought he took jewelry from a jewelry dealer not understanding that there is no distinction between taking gifts from a private citizen or an agent. From what I read, he was naive. This isn't a kid that's been participating in illegal activities at least from all reports I've seen, it's a case of a kid making a bad decision.
How many of us at that age made worse decisions than that? I work in a prison full of those kids. |

Blitz/coverage: Is explosive off the ball and has an excellent closing burst to the quarterback. Dips shoulder and turns the corner well with offensive tackles leaning on him, but is not consistent as an edge rusher. Has a good spin move to beat tackles inside or outside. Tends to get up high when close to the quarterback, which leads to him running past and missing easy sacks. Grade: 8.5 |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Best case scenario is trading back and picking up an additional second round pick and then with our 3 picks second and first round taking a combo of NT, QB, and DE/OLB.

Sounds about right to me. Dallas may screw up our chances of trading back. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
The Redskins officials conducting the interview included Snyder. Interesting when you're talking about a player projected to be less than a 1st round pick.
