With Allen likely a cut, we could add over 16 million to that number

Are the 49ers really going to pay Purdy 50 million plus?

Eagles released Slay and letting Bradbury sign elsewhere too. They got younger on the back end pretty fast.

I don't know about the amount, 49ers doesn't have any choice but to pay Purdy a good sum of money.

purdy is good because of the weapons and ol around him, which is all aging at this point

i make a fair offer to him and if he walked so be it; he is not a franchise QB
Joe Bosa released - interested? Seems like a cap casualty
At this point, we gotta explore every option for the DE position, including this player. He has had lot of injuries so it's a concern, if we end up signing Bosa, we shouldn't stop looking for other options.

Re: NFL offseason 2025

When I first saw it, I was like OMGZ YES!

THEN, read some posts on Reddit saying that his production has dropped. He's hurt a lot, etc. etc. I'm interested, but it would take the right price.

AnonEmouse 03-06-2025 12:14 PM

Re: NFL offseason 2025

It would take the right medical report. Like Lattimore and Deebo, you have to believe the injuries are not a factor, or at least not a significant one, before you sign him. I like what Peters has done so far, but he's now signed 2 players with injury histories in the last 6 months, albeit potential game changers. Let's hope he's got a magic touch with these pick ups.

TheMalcolmConnection 03-06-2025 02:47 PM

Re: NFL offseason 2025

Oh, absolutely. Until further notice, Peters gets a massive benefit of the doubt from me. The only "meh" is Lattimore and that's just me being bitchy. Dude came in out of game shape, in a new system and I expected All Pro production. Now, if we don't see that THIS year, different story.

Re: NFL offseason 2025

good to have wagner back for another year. hendrickson is super interesting. I wonder what the cost is though (picks and contract wise). We're definitely not getting both (though that would be great).

I'd like to hear ertz, way, etc are back. I'd also like the lion's CB, but we really need DE and OT first (and maybe 1 more OT/OG).

Last year it was impossible to fill every hole. This year it seems doable.

GridIron26 03-07-2025 08:51 AM

Re: NFL offseason 2025

Garrett is reportedly expected to skip games this year to force the trade. This has a potential to turn into Trent Williams situation, which could lower the price for Garrett. If this is the case then we should go after him.

As for trading for Hendrickson, we should do it for right price.

The thing is, we only have 6 picks for this year so if we trade for Garrett or Hendrickson, we will have less assets to build for the future. This is going to be an interesting offseason.

One thread talks about grooming, one about filling every hole. Have I logged onto the wrong forum?

But seriously, I think we can fill most holes simply by re-signing the better guys that we have out of contract, if only for depth. Fowler, Chinn & Igbinoghene, would leave edge and a starting CB as the more immediate needs on D. Either or both Brown's, Ertz and/or Zaccheus would ensure consistency at least at WR and TE, and that leaves OL as the biggest need. Way of course for ST's (we've already re-signed Gonzalez for what that's worth). We then get 5-10 starters from FA and the draft, and we should be better than last year, or at least as good. Hendrickson or Garrett for an affordable price definitely, but we wouldn't have to chase anyone hard if we already cover our bases with re-signings.

Yup would love to get a big ole run stopper at DT, a corner, and a couple OL in the draft. Throw Hendrickson in FA. Some depth at safety and an upgrade at rb.

Titans to release Harold Landry after team did not find trade partner.

my vote is to sign Harold and trade for Hendrickson. I believe Mina Kimes said that this would be a similar situation to Khalil Mack when he was traded to the Chargers for a 2nd round which Cincy would want something similar for Hendrickson.
I just dont know if we can afford to continuously trade away draft picks with so many holes on our roster.

ugh, no thank you.
I hope he stays in LA

Adam Schefter: Chargers Will Work To Keep Khalil Mack.

I really hope we can sign Harold Landry. 28 yrs old, he'll get you 9-10 sacks, is a BEAST against the run which we sorely need and the best part is we wouldn't have to break the bank for him or trade any picks.

Wow How much money do they have tied up in 2 players now? Sheesh, with no playoff hopes too? Man, now I know the guy is a beast, but it kinda reminds me of our win the offseason days with Haynesworth. Imagine if he gets injured?

I actually heard someone suggest a cleveland trade idea including garrett AND watson to dump the salary cap fiasco they have to simply reset. To me that would make more sense that pay another dude 100M to sit on his ass in January. Well Cleveland, buy his jersey and enjoy the 1 win a month that our past org treated us to for so long. BTW, I am not that into Hendrickson as his run defense isnt worth trading the farm for.

I dont know much about Landry other than he seems like hes good against the run but cant sack and Hendrickson has the opposite issue, although his run d is sufficient. Kinda like Montez Sweat and Chase Young style again. Damn, I wish there were guys who could set an edge AND rush the passer

I hear you, slim pickings in this FA class.
Hendrickson seems like he wants to stay in Cincinnati and Patriots just signed Harold Landry..

cleveland insures their contracts. If he gets injured, they get (some of) the cap space back.

It should also be a reminder that the NFL rules benefit the team and players have little to no alternatives. Sure, Garrett can sit out training camp and games, but that in the end will cost him money.

If he can't find a way to a winning team, he may as well get paid.
