Shedeur Sanders could still be taken by teams in 2nd round. Browns could draft him. Saints could draft him. Rams could draft him. Finally, Steelers could draft him. I can’t see him sliding to 3rd round. So someone will take him. Whoever doesn’t take him, could they have interest in Rodgers; if he doesn’t sign with Pittsburgh? Cousins could now wave his no trade clause; so Falcons can trade him. Will be interesting what happens.
JMPO and nothing more but I think many want to stay away from the circus drafting Sanders may cause. I think he is a decent kid but there is baggage. |

More and more stories coming out like this.............. 'Sanders’ personality has rubbed some people the wrong way throughout the pre-draft process. Sanders admitted that during his team visits, he was interviewing executives just as much as they were interviewing him, and that didn’t sit well with everyone. “When I go visit these coaches and when I go to all these different franchises, I ask them truly what I think and how I feel,” Sanders said. “Some get offended, some like it, some don’t. make some people uncomfortable, some people invite that.”' www.profootballnetwork.com/draft-expert-shedeur-sanders-meeting-giants-hc-brian-daboll/ |

I was surprised when Cleveland took him after nabbing Gabriel which was another surprise in itself. Cleveland has a lot of qbs to work with now. Not sure if any work out but there is an abundance at this point.

That's crazy or just super-coincidental, that after all these years, he left-us after Howell was gone and before completing a damn near dream/season with J.D. |

If you have 5 QB's, you have 0 QB's. I imagine they will go into next season with Flacco, Gabriel, Sanders and the other 2 guys are gone sooner or later. |

Not sure but I think he has more experience than the rookies and Pickett jk lmao. Watson should be done there.

This is the best take on the Sanders situation. Cleveland is a shitshow and will settle for a basic QB. |

Here's Cleveland's new gameplan at qb: 1) Trading for an accused sexual predator in one of the worst trades and contracts in sports history 2) A 40 year old Super Bowl champion who is a decade past his prime 3) A newly ordained NFL qb journeyman who they nabbed Philly 4) All time td passer in college football history who had a far lower draft grade than 3rd rd 5) Biggest slide in NFL draft history with a flamboyant meddling NFL hall of famer father Kevin Stefanski sure is a special man. Re: The annual QB carousel
Hoping Howell does well in Minnesota. McCarthy is a real young guy with 0 nfl experience. I could see Howell getting some meaningful pt there and O'Connell is good with qbs.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
I wouldn't be surprised to see Howell playing his best game under O'Connell. O'Connell is clearly a QB guru, I mean, even Haskins showed some flashes under him.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
Sam is in good situation. Kevin O’ Connell is great with QBs. He can further develop Sam and Sam is bound to get a chance of some playing time; as JJ McCarthy will have ups and downs in his first year starting. Sam may get another chance in the future or have a nice backup career.
Shedeur , if he’s really a good qb; gets a chance to rise in Cleveland’s QB room. Time for him to show, it was other non football things that caused him to slide. Watson still has 2 more years on that deal; so Browns are stuck with the contract. He won’t be healed from injury until later in season. He’s likely never playing a down for Browns again. So he’s a non factor. I think Pickett is odd man out and will be traded or released before training camp. He will likely asked to be released. Flacco is vet qb Browns like. He lead to playoffs 2 years ago. Big reason they brought him back. He sucked in Indy last year and likely has little left in tank. Browns long term qb will come from either Gabriel or Sanders ultimately winning the job and getting playing time later in the season. And just think, Browns have 2 #1’s in 2026 and could trade up next year for a QB if needed. The vet qb market is settled for now, if Rodgers plays with Steelers. Cousins will be stuck as a backup , unless someone gets hurt in summer. Now if Rodgers says no to Steelers; then I can see Cousins going there. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
What Pittsburgh does at qb now should be interesting. Suppose they are still waiting on Rodgers which I feel is a mistake if he plays or not. They did draft Will Howard. Imagine they roll with Rudolph if Rodgers doesn't come. Surprised they didn't nab a qb higher than 6th rd.

Re: The annual QB carousel
I’m shocked Pittsburgh didn’t trade for Sam Howell.
He’s ready for his breakout season and would’ve made them Super Bowl contenders. |

Re: The annual QB carousel
Now they are saying that Sanders will be cut before the season starts. Basically a camp body.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
Who is "they". That's just dumb. Why draft him at all if that's the case. Don't need QB "camp bodies". Not enough reps to go around for all of them.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
They won’t admit it but Sanders was likely picked on Haslams orders.
Remember Browns traded up in 5th round to get him, so figure they want to make the roster. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
Who is "they". That's just dumb. Why draft him at all if that's the case.
Stefanski didn't look thrilled at all about Sanders being drafted nor the guy accompanying him. Imagine it was ordered from the top.

Re: The annual QB carousel
you don't spend 5th round picks on camp bodies. there are unlimited amounts of UDFAs for that. They need to see if either of the rookies can play and also hope for a someone to have a camp injury so they can trade pickett for a ham sandwich.

I'd still be surprised if Flacco is not the starter. Just seems like the safest bet with all the experience, ring, and arm strength despite his age. Hard to predict honestly. Every day is an adventure for Stefanski being Cleveland's coach.

I mean, they're not winning anything this year (or until they ditch DW's contract), so flacco giving you a couple W's doesn't really matter. Kinda better to see if the young guys are good enough to start or flip for picks (and/or tank for manning). |

Derrick Carr has retired.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Derrick Carr has retired.
Pretty surprising as he's not that old. There did seem to be some real ambiguity about his injury. Seems like a trend where more NFL guys are retiring younger that prior eras.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
he got something like $194m for 1 playoff win... definitely doesn't need the money. retiring still messes with his team's cap though
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
Report I read was that while he gets to keep his signing bonus, his salary is voided. Are they allowed to spread his SB over the remaining term of his (now void?) contract or does it all accelerate into this year?
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
Purdy got his extension. He’s making the $$$$$$$$ now.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Purdy got his extension. He’s making the $$$$$$$$ now.
SF finally gave him his deal. I am skeptical he is worth that massive contract as he struggled more last year than his rookie year. Enormous raise for him for sure. Kid is likeable and hope he plays well except against Washington. :D

Re: The annual QB carousel
SF was hit hard with injuries last year, tough to blame Purdy for taking a step back

You could see it on his and the GM's face. Neither were happy at all. That was 100% Haslem's pick. |

An even more unhappy response may be Quinn Ewers getting drafted by Miami. Clearly frustrated. Imagine it was due to the 7th round, but it was pretty bad.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Aaron finally made up his mind. He’s coming to Pittsburgh tomorrow to sign a one year deal and will participate in minicamp.

Re: The annual QB carousel
I'm kinda surprised that Steelers is willing to wait on Rodgers, only to be in the same position next year - not being in a position to draft a highly-rated rookie QB or sign a legit QB.

I think he'll actually do well there. Call me crazy, but I have a a feeling it'll work out better then people think. I was very impressed with Pitt's physicality when they played us last year. Pickens was a problem, and now we have to deal with him on Dallas.

They aren't going to make it the Packers like the Jets did. He will play QB and work with who ever is there. No trading for this buddy or that one like the Jets did. |

Think he'll do well if he has time to throw. Interested to see how he works with Metcalf who is an absolute beast.
