Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
I’m watching the Redskins this season not because they are going to win 10 games. But for the first time in many years they have a talented youth movement at QB, WR and DL. I want to see how these guys mature and progress.
After a mediocre 2919 season the Redskins will use their draft picks to rebuild their OL. That’s the final piece of the puzzle. We will have a new Head Coach and a young team with some really outstanding players. The team will be ready to move to the next level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Never quite understood all the hand wringing over Penn, he’s been a solid pro. We lose a lot with him athletically compared to Trent but he’s still solid. Can Flowers be at least as good as Lauvao? I hope so.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Penn can be decent just age/injury risk is always there. Im not convinced Flowers can be as good as Lauvao...that's an issue. I actually think the rookie Guard should be getting the work. |

Unless Flowers is a disaster, I say give him until the Bye to develop LG skills, especially if Trent comes back. He actually has higher upside of the two, but his bad habits are deeply ingrained. I personally preferred cutting him to save cash and put in the rookie....but since they are going with the big gamble....give it a fair shake...the guy has got the right shape. If he ever developed discipline, consistency, effort and technique, he could be a really good LG. The problem is he screws up once per quarter, and it is always big, like a sack, penalty to remove a TD, cause turnover, etc. He is the equivalent of a QB that throws picks or a RB that fumbles |

Is that all he needs? Lol. So could any 300 lb man who ever lived. The guy is a complete bust. Im a Miami fan so I have every reason in the world to root for him but he is bad. Waste of a roster spot. Ill be super happy to eat crow on this one but..... |

I think he will make enough big mistakes to bring in Martin. The team can only take so many bad sacks and holding penalties before they bring in the new kid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
In the first game Penn and Flowers did ok. Moses showed why he gets so many offense-killing penalties. I don’t think TW will come back so I hope he is traded for a top draft pick. We will need to spend some draft picks to get the OL to an elite level. Right now they are just treading water and hoping for no injuries.

Moses looked terrible, again. The repair of the OL will take three steps:
1. dumping high cost FA like Norman, TW etc - which allows us hiring new OL FA. 2. Resign Scherff. Probably not happening. 3. If the team is smart they can trade and gain extra draft picks for OL. Let’s see if BA is up to the challenge.. |
Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
There is a very realistic chance we win one game (against Miami).

Skins Wins - predictions go here
I was thinking this was a 7-9 or 6-10 team. Now I don’t even think we can win more than 2-3 games. Maybe just Miami, because they are trying to lose every game. It isn’t long before the players start to give up and play to the level where they don’t look like they are tanking but not so intense that they could get hurt.

2-14. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I look at the roster, I don't see a bunch of players that are likely to mail it in. If that were the case, the MNF game would have been 45-3 instead of 31-15. They'll continue to compete. If they can become more consistent, they'll probably win 8-9 games. If not, it's more like 5-6. |

My opinion has nothing to do with the players not trying to win. Just looked at the schedule, the only chances of winning I see are the Redskins games against the Dolphins and the Jets. All of the other teams the Redskins play against this season either currently have a winning record or are at. 500, so honestly, unless the Redskins drastically improve, I don't see any wins against any winning teams.
Yall crazy. 7 wins? We'll be lucky to win 3 games behind that O Line. We will be picking top 5 in the draft next year, bank on that.
Notice I said AT BEST. That meant with everybody staying healthy, TW back in the lineup, and the ball/calls bouncing our way. Realistically this team is destined for a 4-5 win season when it comes down to it. Here I'll do the rest of the schedule: Giants - tossup Patriots- LOL. Def a loss. Dolphins- Our first win. 2nd if we get lucky with Giants. 49ers- Loss Vikings - Loss Bills - Loss Jets- Win Panthers - Loss Packers - Loss Eagles - Loss Giants- Win Cowboys- Loss Browns - Loss Bengals - Win Falcons - Loss Ravens - Loss So that figures 4 or 5 wins. |
Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
How did the Ravens end up on the schedule? They join the AFC east?
|
Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
After seeing that Mitch Trubisky completed 80% of his passes last night my prediction of 6 wins seems overly optimistic to the point of being delusional. The Dallas and Chicago games were worse than the score indicated and we probably got up 17-0 on Philadelphia because they aren't that good right now and came out rusty.
Who can this team beat? Maybe the Jets, Miami and the home game against the Giants? Maybe they pick up a surprise win somewhere if they get all the breaks. This looks like a 2-4 win team right now. |

Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
We’ll lose to the Giants BUT this will force Snyder to fire Gruden /Manusky on Monday.
Now O’Connell will be HC. First change is that Jay’s super-predictable play-calling will end. Second change will see Haskins come in. Manusky will be replaced which means the defense can only GO UP. My grandmother could design better defensive schemes than Greg, and she died 20 years ago. We will see some life come back in the team as rookies are brought in to see where we will need to draft next year. Other players will play under pressure and better as they fight to stay past this season. After Gruden is gone, we could win 2-3 games. As long as Gruden is HC we will lose every game. Also I would rather see Dwayne Haskins kept on the bench for this season and let him start fresh next season. It's obvious that the Redskins aren't going anywhere this season and there is absolutely no reason to get Dwayne Haskins injured due to the porus Offense Line. I agree with everyone that Jay Gruden is a "dead man walking" as a Head Coach, so there is no reason for Dwayne Haskins to be wasted. Also, I like the Redskins to try to avoid having a repeat of the mistakes made with RG3. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk |

Very very doubtful they'd fire Jay before Manusky, or fire them both. Manusky will be the fall guy in all likelihood. Jay will hang on until the season is done.

It's coaching, they suck, the players are doing what they are told. This team never has adjustments during games so the players just go out and continue to do the same shit. It's not that hard to see. They can all say the same bs "we just have to execute better" or "we need to do a better job of coaching" Nothing changes |

Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
The one good example of "It's Coaching" is the 49ers from 2010 to 2011. They went from 6-10 to 13-3 without significant roster changes. They got head coach Jim Harbaugh and a new staff. Defense went from 16th to 2nd by canning Manusky and replacing him with Fangio. Offense went from 24th to 11th replacing Raye with Roman.

Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
I know this sounds crazy.. here goes ..jay and the whole crew gets axed and we end up with the worse record in nfl .. number one pick .. new GM and coach can’t resist Tua .. we take him and trade Haskins for a number one and reboot .. I know you guys think that’s crazy but I could happen ...😀

Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
Or trade the 1st overall pick for 3 x 1st.
|
Re: Skins Wins - predictions go here
I'll be honest I laughed at the predictions of 3-13 or 4-12 from the media but clearly they were right
