Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
This kid Reddick out of Temple seems to be getting a lot of talk lately. He's only 230lbs so I'm not sure if he can rush the passer at OLB. I was reading that they put him at ILB at the Senior Bowl. That seems like an interesting spot. He could be what we need, someone that's fast, explosive and can make plays.

Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
Per Keim on Twitter:
"was told ONLY off position they'd take is RB" This is in regards to the 17th pick. First, it makes sense. So Oline, TE, WR and QB(I don't think they would ever consider) are all off the board for 17. Second, they are really considering RB and it also lets us know RB is a spot under the microscope they will be looking to improve, if not at 17, then probably somewhere in the top half of the draft. Again, makes sense. Keim also said tonight (he's doing some mock espn draft show) pass rushers are a major focus with the draft. |

Keim mentioned him some today on Twitter. I think a bleacher report douche said a scout from the skins told him Reddick is the pick if he is there today. But your right. Reddick would be ILB. Keim said also Skins do like Foster a lot and Jonathan Allen. Will either be there? It's looking like a olb pass-rusher, ILB or RB at 17. |
Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
Yeah as really hope that the ILB needs to be beefed up. Seems he can be fast and explosive.

trade down unless a great player at a position of need is available. Do not trade for picks in next year's draft . Draft players at positions of need.... there are plenty of needs, so what if they are rated slightly lower. Rumor is the Texans wants to move up about 8 spots to get a QB. The Redskins would get pick #25 and the Texans #2 pick.... for pick #17 If the Redskins can come up with 12 picks, then maybe they will find more than 2 who contribute in 2017 |

Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
To those who say McCaffrey Cant be a 3 down player I ask why Cant he be in the back field on 1st and 2nd down but then line up in the slot on 3rd down a la David Johnson and no I am not saying he is David Johnson or should run inside as much as Johnson

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Washington_Redskins_seasons
Have you been watching the past 24 seasons? How many times did we try the win now strategy? Free Agent splurges. College Coach with a surefire offense that overhauls the team. Trade away the future for a surefire QB prospect. Just to name a few examples of failed win now attempts. The slow rebuild is only 3 years in. There has been a significant improvement on offense, and we started by building a strong o line and developing a QB. Defense has been neglected in recent off seasons, but that largely has to do with what opportunities were available. We have been signing free agents to smart contracts and resigning productive guys and letting people walk that aren't worth their market value. This is how to build a long term winner. See the Patriots. Name me one team that has had sustained success with this supposed win now strategy? And what specifically are you suggesting be done differently? Is this an argument against BPA? Let's think, did the skins ever reach and over saturate a position of need in the draft? Do the names Malcom Kelly and Devin Thomas ring a bell? I guess it is pretty easy to forget them TBH. |

They could lose 4/5 of the offensive line in the next year or two. And the starting QB,WR, ILB, S could be gone next year as well. The 3 to 5 year plan starts over next year. Good teams are built in the early to mid rounds in the draft..... Such as Cousins, Reed,Crowder, maybe Cravens. However, 1 or 2 good mid round picks a year and you will be rebuilding forever. |

Doc, Cravens, Fuller could all have a huge impact on this years team. I think SM traded for extra picks in this years draft cause it's obviously deeper on the defensive side of the ball. Also if you get three players out of a draft that become good players then that's a good draft. |

Johnson is like 230lbs. He's build like an NFL RB. McCaffrey simply does not have that kind of size on his frame. You can't run him in between the tackles. He won't last. He's a part time player and you can't draft a part time player in the first round. 4th round? Sure. You can find those type of players in the mid rounds. |

Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
I saw on a few mocks they had us taking a qb???
Defense. We must go defense. Championships aren't won with a juggernaut offense and NO defense. Anybody have a hypothesis on why they have us taking a qb though? Am I missing something here? |

You can draft 3 really good players and then you could have another 2 or 3 that are role players. Name me one team that hits on 7 draft picks? No one does. There are also undrafted players that can contribute like Rob Kelly. And then there are years where you miss on the draft. Even the teams that rely heavily on the draft, like Pittsburgh or Green Bay, they'll have bad drafts. It happens to everyone. |

which brings me to the patriots' last 2 drafts, 2015-2016. 2015: 11 total picks; 3 starters, 4 backups, 2* players now w other teams, 2 players out of the league /// *a.j.derby traded to broncos and matthew wells to bears 2016: 9 total picks; 1 starter, 6 backups, 1 player now w another team, 1 player out of the league |

Hopefully Jonathan Allen.....but I would be fine as long as its NOT on the offensive side of the ball
|
Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
I dont know who we should draft but I think Cousins will be traded to Cleveland,it just makes too much sense for both teams.Cleveland has multiple picks and desperately need a qb and they whiff on drafting qbs.Washington has pooched the Cousins negotiations and probably wont be able to sign him to a long term deal, plus we still dont have a GM and I think Snyder wouldnt mind sticking it to Cousins a little bit for playing hardball.
Even if it doesnt happen this weekend that doesnt mean its out of play even if Cleveland drafts a qb.If the Skins think enough of the qb the Browns drafted they could swap QBs and some draft picks involved in there somewhere. |

Re: With the 17 pick, the Washington Redskins select...
If we have zero intention of raising our offer to sign Cousin which will lead him to leave, then trading him makes sense.
To me this would be a horrible decision and would set the franchise back. |

Cousins isn't getting traded unless it's a ridiculous offer, like bigger than the RG3 deal.

yes. w the chance of him being dealt before or during the draft, signing him has not been an urgent matter. if he's still on the roster after the draft, it becomes a much bigger priority before the deadline in july. |

I think I had read earlier that Kirk was concerned if he signed the tag that he might be traded to cleveland,so he def does not want to go there. |

Ian Rapoport is reporting that we're trying to trade back and potentially target Jabrill Peppers. The tweet below was in response to Mike Garafolo.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet: Redskins have discussed trading back into late 1st. This could be a target. They need secondary help. Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo Mentioned on @nflnetwork just now: Skins contingent including Bruce Allen worked out/had dinner with Jabrill Peppers in Ann Arbor last wknd. |
