I think we as fans are conditioned by offenses with big fantasy numbers and what gets lost is basic winning fundamentals.

I guarantee this next year. I guaren-fucking-tee it. We will not make the playoffs unless we start running the ball more effectively and make a commitment too it in pivotal situations. You cant tell me we cant run it with our Oline...its very solid and could be even better this coming season if we add a LG.

Cousins aint winning this by himself. He isn't that type of QB. Matt Ryan isn't either. Brady, P manning, Aaron Rogers and Drew Brees are those type of QB. For Cousins to take his game to the next level, he clearly needs a better running game.

What I saw in that game was...
Shanahan did start play calling conservatively, but it was more about the defense not blitzing or putting pressure on Brady that lead to his comeback more than the Falcons offense.

We also saw the power of having a true franchise quarterback. You see it with Brees, Rogers, Stafford. I saw it in 2012 with the RG (only year that I saw it). When the players around Brady raise their game because of the confidence that they have in him to achieve.

Speed Kills. The skins should take a page out of Atlanta book for player selection. Because if they didn't take their foot off the gas they would have beat the Pats.

skinsfan69 totally agree. after that catch quinn should have marched up and down that sideline, until he found shanahan, and told him its time to win the super bowl. run the ball, we kick the field goal, and we win the super bowl. its that easy. and most of these coaches do think they invented football. thats why you see dumb crap like this

Kyle Shanahan fucked up bad. I have never seen a worse case of a coach losing a easy winnable game. Twice up by more than a touchdown in the fourth quarter, on the Pats 30 yard line, he comes out in shot gun. Telling the defense he is going to pass. Sack, then holding penalty. Out of field goal range. The other time it was a sack and fumble.
He abandoned the run when he was up by multiple touchdowns. The sad part is the run was working. Even if he ran the ball (which would chewed up the clock) and was stopped on downs, you kick the two field goals. The game would have been out of reach and out of time.
Kyle fucked up bad.
I hope this teaches our offense to stop being so one dimensional and being so in love with one thing, in this case the pass.

If he's there at 17 and they think he's BPA then I'm fine with it . But giving up picks to move up is not the way to go when you're short on talent. We've been there and done that already.

Anytime between now and March 9, they'll probably be approaching players about pay reductions or contract restructures. They'll start those discussions, and if they can't save as much as they'd like, then they'll mostly likely jettison the player before March 9.

Some might be kept to come in and compete in camp.

WTF? You can only win if you are there. If we choke in SB so be it, but ffs, if we got there the cowturds, beagles and gits didnt. That makes as much sense as hoping to be bad enough to get #1 overall pick. Losing sucks and the farther you go the more it hurts, but being average and irrelevant means you aren't in the conversation. Go as far as we can easily year and do our best. Period.

I want the skins to draft Kareem Hunt. We could get him in the 2nd or 3rd and he is a legit beast. He can catch, block, and doesn't fumble. Plays through contact, one of the best in NCAA at it. Add him to Rob Kelley and Chris Thompson. That is a true 3 headed monster.

Agreed. I mean I don't want to go and lose 4 straight times or choke away multiple touchdown lead, but I certainly would always rather be seeing the Skins play in the SB rather than missing, especially year after year after year...

Goodell hosed the Skins with a salary cap penalty when the owners colluded in 2011, so he has been on my shit list ever since.

There are holding penalties on run plays as well as pass plays and as I said before Ryan could have check out of the play.They team lost in OT to the Greatest coach and QB in history....give them their due.

Pats' comeback was epic, not taking anything away from them. That game was crazy.

But Falcons could've killed the game and made several crucial mistakes.
Put it how you want but Kyle made the worst choice possible.

They could have lost ten yards on an holding penalty on a running play and still make a 52/3 yards FG... as was said in an article posted here, all they had to do was NOT to lose 23 yards in 3 plays... They did because Pats' D made plays and Ryan didn't execute, but Kyle should'nt have put them in that situation in the first play.

He tried to explained himself about that play call and revealed he F'd it up, saying they were "on the fringe of fieldgoal range" "trying to get as many yards as possible"...
That's poor situational awareness. They were not "on the fringe of fieldgoal range", that was a cheapshot SB winning fieldgoal.
