Re: MLB 2013 Season
Like I said way back, I gave up on this Nats team back when they lost 15-0 to Cincy and it was their worst loss in franchise history. That said it all to me right there. Now it looks like with the season winding down and frustration growing as well as the braves lead, this team is done.

Yeah. I'm not going to jump on their bandwagon for the season. Like the nationals last year, once football started and the Nats were in the playoffs, I had all my attention to football. But if the orioles go far, good for them. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I'm sure there were plenty of people who said the Nats were done right after they lost 15-0 (to fall to 3-1 for the season), and now feel vindicated for their prediction. But did they say the same when the team lost 11-4 to the Astros last season to fall to 10-4?

Re: MLB 2013 Season
still cant believed they benched Strasburg last season...
Davey Johnson needs to be gone after this season, and Ive said it before but what a damn disappointment Ryan Zimmerman is...he's healthy and his numbers are atrocious and his defense sucks. pathetic Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman might need move from 3B |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Honestly, my dad and I left the game in disgust yesterday during the 8th when Ian Krol didn't bean Freddy Freeman in the 8th after he took a huge 3-1 swing when they were were up six to three. Krol did throw the next pitch pretty far inside but it was way too-little-too-late. In fact, we were mad that Zimmermann didn't hit Heyward with a 3-0 in the first at bat of the game.
After the way Tehran punked Harper on Tuesday it would have been really nice to see the team show a little heart but I guess they just don't have much this season. What a disappointment. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
My Braves, 13 straight!!!! whew!!!
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
My ChiSox swept the Yanks...nice way to snap their previous 10-game losing streak. :D
Horrible year for both teams. I'll pull for the Pirates since my team already sold the team at the trade deadline and gave up on this season. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Breaks my heart........
I was an Orioles fan first and a Nats fan second, so I have love for both teams. But I've been questioning the Nats for awhile. Can't help but wonder what happened to the Nats this year. They're constantly having the injury bug between Werth and Harper. Everyday I get a new text about someone in the main lineup being benched for injury reasons. And did I mention I hate Drew Storen? Because I hate Drew Storen. I know he's the least of the Nats worries right now while he's in the minors but I've hated him since he blew the playoff game last year. Just had to put that out there. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I think the time for the Nats to turn things around this year is starting to dwindle, and I don't like their odds, but hopefully a new manager next year will be able to turn things around. I really hope a fresh voice will help because talent isn't the problem here, they just seem to be doing little things wrong here and there that teams are taking advantage of. Things like pitchers checking runners more, doing a proper sac bunt to move our runners, maybe move R.Zim from third base (it's a little unnerving watching him throw to first, when you never know whether to expect another wild pitch), etc. As far as hitting goes maybe they need a fresh pair of eyes to analyze their swings or something, it feels like they are pressing too hard when they are at the plate.
TL;DR: Even if they do go on a late season run I don't see them making the playoffs. I am in favor of figuring out what they have for next year. |

No because it wasn't the worst loss in franchise history. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Arod had a tough time in Beantown last night. Fans and Sox were brutal to him. Seems he got the last laugh after all. I'm still wondering how the ump allows attempts to him him before one finally lands and he warns both teams. Dude should be suspended for allowing that shit to go on. Dempster should most definitely be suspended by MLB.

Two of their biggest stars (Manny/Big Poppy) used roids the past decade, and you didn't hear squat from them about that. edit: yeah, Dempster needs to be suspended. damn shame. probably gotta opt for tommy john |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
It's probably 'too little, too late,' but the Nats are certainly making this interesting...
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I still think they're a tease. They won't make it to the playoffs despite their late, desperation run.

Re: MLB 2013 Season
Nats are done and I see Zim is starting to turn it up with 20 games left. Way too late.

Re: MLB 2013 Season
I think this is the Tigers year to win it all.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I'm rooting for the Pirates to win it all since my team was horrible. That would be great to see.
I want Oakland vs. Pittsburgh...small(er) market WS. I'm not sure anyone is slowing the Dodgers down though. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I enjoyed watching the video of Mariano Rivera getting the standing o when he was pulled from the game last night. Not a Yankees fan but he is one of the true class acts in the game. I wish him the best in retirement, he's had a great career and he will go down as one of the best players of all time.

Re: MLB 2013 Season
I hate the f-ing Red Sox.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Boston Redsox= New England Patriots
St. Louis Cardinals= Pittsburgh Steelers Atlanta Braves= Dallas Cowboys I hate them all, and 2 of them are still in it. Sadly, I think one of those 2 will win it all unless Detroit or LA gets their sh!t together. |
No Yankees are the cowboys of baseball, like it or not they the biggest and most popular franchises in sports

...Yankees are my 2nd favorite team (father was born and raised in NYC; he roots for them, I root for them. Then the Nationals came along...) but I can see the similarities and won't disagree with that at all. |
I like.them.as well but I'm.really not a huge baseball fan anymore. Now I just watch.the playoffs

Braves are a good comparison to Cowboys too. they both suck @$$ in the playoffs. |

Re: MLB 2013 Season
You know whats great for all you Red Sox/Cardinals Haters or people who just don't like Baseball in general fans, the World Series this year is going to be going head to head with the NFL and College Football 4 of the 7 nights they are scheduled to play.
Game 1 is Wednesday Game 2 is Thursday (Same as College Football game of the week and Thursday Night Football) Game 3 is Saturday (Same as College Football) Game 4 is Sunday (Same as the NFL) [Assuming its necessary] Game 5 is Monday Night (Same as Monday Night Football) Game 6 is Wednesday (NBA season starts up) Game 7 is Thursday (Thursday Night Football and CFB Game of the Week) There is a very good chance this could be the least watched World Series in recent memory. |
I'm not a fan of MLB I used to be until the game went to shit but I'll.watch the WS.
