I prefer RGIII if we don't give up more than the Giants did for Eli. Once you start throwing in more picks, especially second rounders, it's getting too high. Tannehill at 6 or trading down to try and get him before the Dolphins do is worth not giving up that many picks.

Maybe the interest from other teams isn't as strong as they anticipated so they feel they have a real shot, or maybe they were bluffing earlier in not being interested?

Probably due the fact that the scouting department and Shanny got a chance to sit down with Griffin to really see how he ticks. I think he fits the mold of player Shanahan has been trying to draft since getting here. It could all be coincidence though...

One thing we know about Shanahan from past years is that he won't outright lie about his draft plans. But there will be one or two premeditated smokescreens every year that are leaked to sources.

The Eric Berry one on draft day 2010 was an excellent example of an intentional smokescreen.

I agree. He was flat out honest at last year's combine saying our number one need was a pass rusher and look who we picked up.

There might be something to that. Maybe word has leaked through back rooms that either:
a) PM really is not very healthy, or
b) healthy or not, he's not high on coming to DC

Either of these possibilities could change an initial PM plan into a Griffin plan.

If the Redskins can trade back to a slot before the Dolphins and Seahawks pick in order to not only get additional draft selections but to draft Ryan Tannehill, then it would be a win-win situation. That's only if we are unable to trade for RG3. I'm a bit skeptical about Ryan Tannehill. Although I've been impressed with many videos of him on youtube, we must keep in mind that he's considered the 3rd best quarterback in the draft only because Landry Jones and Matt Barkley didn't declare for the draft.

Maybe it was the interview. Maybe they have had time to hear and see more video of him. I like the crap out of him I'm just not a fan of giving up so many picks. No matter who it is. Had you picked anyone else as a combination with RGIII besides Grossman. I most likely would have voted. I do like Weeden but don't know much about the guy you put with him.

Sorry screwed up on the post about the pick combination. I'm not a fan of Grossman with RGIII. I rather just see Grossman gone. I like Tannehill but Orton is not some one I'm a fan of either. As someone else said might as well keep Grossman if Orton is even a thought. But I'd prefer neither. I'd be happier if they picked up 2 QB's one in the first round and one in the second vs. keeping Grossman or adding Orton.

Rex without the picks would have been enough to get us very close or even in the playoffs last year IMO.

As a bridge starter until someone like Tannehill is ready, why not? What's the alternative, Rex with the picks?

I changed my vote from Manning to Rg3. I don't want to see an overhaul of the offense to fit manning's style. Rg3 will fit perfectly...hopefully.

I believe this, add in the Colts are taking Luck and it's a no brainer.I also don't beleive he needs to have a veteran QB with him,give him a good OC and a good QB's coach and you'll have something special.

I heard Snyder loves RGIII and one thing the skins do is react to fan buzz. Alot of people in the DMV love the idea of RGIII here. Its a ticket seller and a marketing move as well a solid player aquisition.

My pick RGIII/Vince Young/ Clausen
