Re: 2010 NCAA Tourney

that had to have been the worst half of ball that I've ever watched

and damn close to the worst first half that I've ever seen from Duke

we hate how our Skins play to the competition of others.. Duke is great at it too

I find it funny that if college basketball went with the BCS format the national championship would have been Kansas vs Kentucky. Kentucky didn't make it to the Final Four while Kansas didn't even get to the Sweet 16.

When college football goes with a 64 team tournament, I can't wait for the Houston-Clemson national championship game.

Although I don't think anyone's proposal is a larger field than 16, which I'm okay with.

I'd settle for a field of 8. Heck I could even deal with a field of four.

By the way can anyone guess when was the last time four number 1 seeds advanced to the final four?

I hate WVU. It troubles me to say this, but I think I would like to see Duke win this match up...

WVU's (football and basketball) teams consist of a bunch of punks who couldn't make the grades at top program schools so WVU was more than happy to take them. I'm pretty sure you can get into WVU with a 2.0, and at least take the SAT coming right out of high school.

Such a joke of a school.

LOL!

Some soccer mom in my office daughter got in there, I know little about the school but she made it sound like she was off to Harvard or something.

I need Duke to win I actually have a chance of winning my office pool.

Looks like if Duke wins, I'll win a Warpath pool 2 years running, so naturally I'm torn.

Thats hilarious. I see that all the time, too. I think its because they're so thrilled that their moron kids who have a 2.2 GPA, and slept through the SAT actually got into a 4 year college.

On a side note. I have Duke winning the whole thing, even though I'm a recent Maryland grad. My fellow alumns will probably hang me for this lol.

lol i actually graduated from HS with a 2.4 or something. got kicked out of 3 HS, had to do night school and summer school to graduate. missed my first SAT b/c i didnt come home from partying and the second time i took it i was on a few hours sleep and hungover. got a 1160 or soemthing like that.

when i got into college, on scholarship no less, my mom was estatic. i remember the last day of HS, i walked out with my card, my mom was waiting in the parking lot, gave it to her, said i passed HS. i wasnt living at ther house much at the time. told her i had a job as a day laborer but if she wanted me to go to college, if she got me in i would go out of love and respect for her.

what mom should be more estatic about their son getting into college? the one with an honor roll student who has never been in trouble before or the one who was constantly getting arrested, high drunk and stupid?

If Duke can keep getting those 2nd shots and boards we'll be well off. Gotta watch the fouls though.

Re: 2010 NCAA Tourney

I know that the announcers said it a handful of times but man it's not often when Scheyer, Singler, and Smith are all on their games shooting-wise. 63 out of the 78 points came from them. The team was 52.7 FG pct and 52.0 from 3. The points that I mentioned (boards and 2nd shots, staying out of foul trouble) definitely helped. Low turnovers and good D definitely did as well.

If Duke rolls that into Monday night they can't lose. Butler really needs to step up, they shot horribly tonight.. just over 30pct. Less than 25pct from 3. Only 5 assists total.

It's hard to not see Duke winning this but the kids at Butler have a lot to prove and Duke has definitely given us head scratchers in the tourney before.

Hopefully Da'Sean Butler only sprained his knee, but you have to imagine he blew it out, maybe Skinny Tee can help us on that one :silly:

My grandfather coached ball at Duke (when they had a decent football team in the 30's) mom and brother both went to Duke. My brother is currently stationed in Iraq and getting up at 2 and 3 am to watch the games. Gotta go for the Devils tonight, if for nothing else than to know my brother is happy.

I'll take off my non-sense Terps fan hat, and say that I'm sure your brother also appreciates all that Coach K does for the troops. I've heard some good stories about this.

Hours of preparation.

I can't stand Duke, and that's exactly why I watched. I wanted to see them lose. It's a shame IMO because there are plenty of teams out there this season that could have beaten Duke in that game, but the bottom line is they beat who was in front of them. A tip of the cap to coach K. I like him. It's the fans and their players that annoy me.

All in all it was a fantastic tournament, and a damn good title game. Imagine if that last shot had gone in?? So close. That would have gone down as one of the biggest plays in sports history.

To me it's like watching the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, so you are not going to change my mind about it.

In retrospect, this tournament will make history by all the crazy upsets, and of course Duke's 4th title.

Tom Izzo and Jim Boeheim (sp?) had a chance to catch up with Coach K, but right now he seems to be hands down the best coach in college ball.
