Ahhh, yes. The obligatory ball-busting. I was wondering when it was going to come for me. That moment has arrived. : ) |
Re: Favre a free agent
Well it's almost that time of the year the annual Favre unretirement/ I had a change of heart reunion tour. IMO he will clearly be a vikqueen this year. Wants that revenge on those cheese heads!
Report: Favre, Childress To Meet Posted by Mike Florio on May 5, 2009, 6:46 p.m. Well, well, well. Welcome to the Summer of Favre, Part 2. Only a day after the former Packers and Jets quarterback supposedly told ESPN’s Trent Dilfer that said former Packers and Jets quarterback won’t be playing again, ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that said former Packers and Jets quarterback will be meeting with the man who’ll be the former Vikings coach absent a postseason win or two. Or three. Per Werder, Favre and Brad Childress will meet at an “undisclosed location” later this week to discuss the possibility of Favre joining the Vikings for the 2009 season. Werder says there’s a “mutual understanding” that Favre will soon thereafter decide whether to sign with the Vikings. Also, Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, reportedly is looking into whether any unemployment quarterbacks coaches are available to work with Favre as he works his way back into playing shape. In Minnesota, Favre immediately would be installed as the starter, and he’s get the keys to an offense very similar to the one he ran for years in Green Bay. |
Re: Favre a free agent
Do you lot really enjoy talking about Favre this much? Do you find yourself possibly wanting to have his baby? If yes, please continue.

Re: Favre a free agent
This favre thing is ridiculous ..I knew something was up when he retired very quietly.. He may not retire until someone givens him a career ending injury...what does this mean now..more favre weeks on nflnetwork..
Does this mean that madden comes back in the both...??? |
Re: Favre a free agent
Dude is ridiculous; asks to be released (twice), then is "surprised" when the Jets do it after drafting Sanchez? You just retired Favre, oh yeah, AND ASKED TO BE RELEASED!

I don't really care what he does as long as I don't have to hear about it every time I watch a sports program. What makes matters worse is he said in a previous interview the Jets have been good to him and wouldn't ask for a release. Also said he was 100% done in a february interview...no chance of coming back. Ummm ooookkkk. I was fooled the first time around with him, not again, if he comes back, good for him, if not, good for him. I am not going to listen to him or his agent, they lie! |

Re: Favre a free agent
Get prepared now...Monday October 5, Pack at Minnesota...you know they'll dub it the Favre Bowl and massively overhype it.
|
Re: Favre a free agent
As long as he's not linked to the Skins in any way, I could really care less if he plays or not.
|
As long as he's not linked to the Skins in any way, I could really care less if he plays or not.
Exactly. Actually it is good that he is with a potential playoff team because if he doesn't miss a game (which is pretty likely) then he will have been beaten up and playing like crap at the end of the year. In a perfect world maybe we could have a playoff game against Minny and we could intercept him 4 times and kick the crap out of them like we always do when it counts. |
Re: Favre a free agent
As long as he's not linked to the Skins in any way, I could really care less if he plays or not.
Yeah, me too. He didn't play THAT bad before his injury last season. The Jets looked great in the first half. He might still be able to play. Leading the Vikings would also be much easier than trying to succeed on the Jets' offense. They could make him look very good. Besides, he's probably a better bet than Sage Rosenfels, Tavaris Jackson or Gus Frerotte to get them though the postseason. |
Re: Favre a free agent
If his shoulder is right I think he would be a good fit for the Vikes and he would definitely make them an instant contender.

Madden will come out of retirement to do commentary on that game. |

I thought his shoulder was fine...thought it was his biscep? |

Maybe SS can enlighten me, but I just don't understand ESPN's infatuation with everything Favre. "Favre Latest" "What should Favre do?" "Word on the Street" "Favre vs. Jackson" "Vikings QBs" And that's all in like a 30 minute span. Oh, and the ESPN Pulse of the Fan Poll: "What do you want to see Brett Favre doing in September?" a) fishing in Mississippi b) doing color commentary c) playing for the Vikings It's no wonder everyone is so sick of this guy. |
Re: Favre a free agent
I thought his shoulder was fine...thought it was his biscep?
Yeah it was his bicep that was causing pain in his shoulder. |
Re: Favre a free agent
Yeah it was his bicep that was causing pain in his shoulder.
Yeah. It kind of seems that his shoulder worn due to age and that is what debilitated him down the stretch last year. I'd still love to see him play for the Vikes and stick it to the Packers for the sake of theatrics. It only benefits spectators to see that storyline. And just like Matty said. As long as the Skins aren't being thrown around as suitors I don't care where he goes. |

Hey, watch it...:) In Hattiesburg we have untouched, uncrowded nature and glorious weather almost year round. Don't knock it until you've tried it! |

I doubt this story is done

Re: Favre a free agent
I believe it's Texas that only has steers and queers. Ask Romo. Favre isn't out of the picture yet.

Re: Favre a free agent
I doubt this story is done
I sure hope it is. All Favre did today was reaffirm his retirement decision, and yet the amount of press is still nauseating. I swear, he could fart in the wrong direction and he would still get some sort of special coverage. I'm sure we'll get doused with Favre all over again come July. At this point he doesn't want to deal with OTA's and the other offseason stuff. He'll probably show up for training camp with the Vikings and further tarnish his legacy to play one more season out of spite for Ted Thompson. End rant. |

Re: Favre a free agent
Has there been a beloved athlete in recent memory to do more to completely turn people against him in such a short time? Barring your Vick's and cheating baseball players of course. As someone who was way ahead of his time in Favre hatin' I'm pretty amazed at how tired people have gotten of him.

I agree I suppose. The fact is that I've lived many different places since I moved from VA. I ended up in Hattiesburg because of a sweet job opportunity. |

You are correct. Imagine what the Green Bay faithful have been saying about this Favre-to-Vikes stuff. Many of them, who loved him for years, must be screaming "Traitor!" |
