Monday night, in front of a cable audience that will be flipping between the game, Dancing with the Stars, and whatever made for TV movie is on Lifetime. Two tough, inspired, injured teams both desperate to stay at or near the top of their respective divisions and conferences. The kickers are going to get a workout...

Against this defense, Campbell is likely to have 3 turnovers. No pass rush to Big Ben. Santana Moss' hamstring will keep him from being a factor. Shawn Springs' ouchy will keep him on the sidelines again. Steelers run defense is too dominant.

Steelers 23
Skins 13

I don't think Campbell will have three turnovers, but I agree with everything else you said, including the score. Unfortunately.

that's the same score i had but i think cooley, moss and portis will score and suisham will add a field goal. it's nice to know that someone else thinks similarly as i do.

Portis held to 60 yds rushing and comes out of the game limping limiting his carries and yards for the rest of the season. Somebody on Skins O-line goes down for the season. D-line unable to pressure or sack Ben who torches us for 3 TDs. Campbell throws first 2 INTs of the season. It all starts a downward spiral for the second half of the season where we go 2-6 to miss the playoffs. Skins lose 24-17.

Seriously, if we win this game, we're in the playoffs.

Soooo, basically you're saying it's doomsday, setting up an epic collapse to one of our most promising starts in years? Sheesh.

It must be heaven living in the DC area and get to watch the Skins games and shows for free. Being a Skins fan for over 40 yrs (I'm currently 49) had been difficult to watch all of their games but since the advent of sports bars and the NFL package its been wonderful. Right now the $350 dollars to watch my Skins in HD is truly priceless. Now as far as the blood pressure and heartburn medication that is something else! lol

20-13 Skins, all tied up with 4:55 remaining in the fourth. Skins put together a td drive leaving 1:33 on the clock, Defense holds on 4th and 7 at the skins 37.

Tell me thats not detailed.

Wow, seems like the glass is always half full for you huh lol...

I could see us struggling and losing, but why would that mean it would cause a downward spiral?

I think the Skins realize we are lucky to be in the position we are in, and the offense needs all sorts of improvements but our D is pretty good. If Portis and the line stay in tact, I don't see how we can't slide into the wild card.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

This is a tough one to get a grasp on. Do we try to blitz like every other team vs the Steelers or do we do what we do? Cover well and force things underneath to our LB's.

Do we rely more on the run w/ Pitts good D (play it conservative)? Or Do we open it up a little against a stout run D?

Hmmmmm. Glad I'm not coaching but heregoes. Similar D w/ opportune blitzes. Start off the game opening things up a little for CP and the boys later on.

Skins 31 Steelers 17

Steelers are beat up even worse than the skins at this point. Should be a good game.

Actually I think Big Ben throws some PICs this weekend because good coverage creates longer time to put pressure on the dude that forces some passes out of despiration. Not to mention just the errant throws.

You must be smokin crack to come up with a 2-6. Please list your projected wins and losses.

This matchup makes me nervous. Monday Night. All Eyes On Us. Im really hoping we can put it all together and beat a team we ARE 100% CAPABLE OF BEATING...and will gain us some more respect across the league.

Key Matchups:
Big Ben/Ward/Santonio Holmes VS. Our Injured Secondary.
CP (whos a lil banged up, in need of the bye) VS. Steelers tough Run D
AND WHO GETS THE PUSH?? Our O-Line VS. Steelers D-Line

But we can win. We Must. We Should...GO SKINS!!!!!

Skins: 19
Steelers: 17

We haven't had a pass rush all year and I dont see that changing now. I still think it's going to be a close game and whoever wins the TO battle will win this game.

Anyone see this? Ben is distracted just as I would be.....:laughing2 FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Rumors, buzz and odd news - Number 1

He'll still be sharing carries with Moore, he's not completely back yet. Out D is not a good one to face coming back from injury. :)

Easy now..... the last time I called a win for us against the Rams and went out to Fedex, we turned in a turd of a performance. Hopefully, the opposite of my prediction will come true.

POPS POLAMALU TO MISS MONDAY’S GAME?
Posted by Mike Florio on October 31, 2008, 4:34 p.m.

The guy who won’t let a little concussion (or 12) keep him from playing football might miss a game due to something unrelated to his own health and well-being.

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is expecting his first child, a son. According to the Beaver County Times, he possibly won’t be with the team on Monday night in D.C. as Pittsburgh prepares to play the Redskins.

Asked whether the situation might result in Polamalu not playing, he said, “I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”

Tim Benz of WXDX in Pittsburgh advises us that Polamalu didn’t practice on Friday, but no reason was given for his absence other than that it was non-football related.

Polamalu’s son will be named Paisos, which is Samoan for “Son Of Man Who Badly Needs Haircut.”

GMScud 10-31-2008 06:29 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

I hope his wife goes into labor on Monday afternoon and they have a beautiful, healthy child. And he then watches his team lose from a TV in the hospital.

If Polamalu doesn't make it, with Ryan Clark already listed as out for the game, they will be missing both starting safeties.

I'm in a bind myself, the two defenses on my team are redskins and steelers. I would pick up another and drop one but, both have given me good consistant numbers. I dont want to fear losing one of them to the waiver.

I'm starting the Redskins and benching the steelers.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-31-2008 07:50 PM

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

I would pick the Redskins to win if we were relatively healthy. However, our Pro Bowl left tackle, Pro Bowl #1 wide receiver, Pro Bowl left defensive end, Pro Bowl #1 corner, best interior defensive lineman, and Carlos Rogers and Laron Landry all "Out" or "Questionable."

Also, the Steelers' biggest weakness is pass protection and we don't appear to have the pass rushing firepower to exploit that weakness. Conversely, one of our bigger weaknesses lies in pass protection and the Steelers' greatest strengths is pass rushing. With Samuels hurt and Jansen a liability in pass protection, I think it's reasonable to see JC get sacked between 3-5 times.

End result - an ugly 24-14 Steelers win. On the bright side, we enter the bye at the right time with a 6-3 record.
