Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
it wasn't a joke
It was to me. Just playing with you Matty. I think it is going to be a decent game, just with us on the L side of the coin when it is over. It is going to take some time to get the new O scheme down pat and JC needs more reps, unfortunately it is going to be during the big show where the Ws and Ls count. |
Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
I think this is going to be a very close one. Spagnuolo is a top notch D-coordinator, and that crowd will be deafening - first home game since the Super Bowl, NFL Season Opener, prime time game, division rival... plenty of reasons for that place to be insanely loud. They'll throw the house at JC, and given how shaky we've looked recently, its going to be hard to establish rhythm.
I see one, maybe two scoring drives for the offense, and I think the D will give us a short field once or twice with turnovers. I really, really hope Jason Taylor can play. I would love to see he and Andre pin their ears back and go full steam for Eli. Nothing would take that crowd out of the game like seeing that little mop-headed aw shucks punk pansy eat dirt a few times. Giants in a close game, 21-17. |

Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
Redskins 17
Giants 16 The Giants don't scare me at all. They're a totally different team from last year, and they're horrible at home. With that being said I think this is going to be a very close game and it really could go either way. I am very concerned about Zorn's performance, and the Redskins in general, in a game that actually counts. |
I'm not bashing him, I just see the writing on the wall.. and I'm sick and tired of the excuses about him not having enough playing time. Sorry, but he doesn't have what it takes IMO.... BUT having said that I'm hoping I'm wrong and he does get better for the sake of the Skins.
And No, I didn't get his autograph.. I didn't ask for it. My son got Collins and Brennan's.
Well we are talking about a guy with less than 20 starts and he's had to learn 3 different NFL offenses. IMO he's going to need a full year in this offense. Whether he gets it is another story. |

I think the Carolina game left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Their first team simply manhandled our first team. They beat us down right in the trenches. |

Thanks for getting that typo GM, I fixed the original, but can't fix your response. Hope Matty doesn't mind. I don't want to be benched again this season. |

Redskins 22
Giants 20 We cant afford to lose this game. We come out running the rock and Portis rumbles for 160 yards on 32 carries. |

Redskins 14 Cowboys 13
Why was that an emotional game for the Cowboys? It was very early in the season - Week 3-Sept. 19th I think. Sure, Skins-Cowboys is a big rivalry, but there was no reason for that game to be more emotional for Dallas than any other vs. the Skins. Actually, the last time we played an opponent dealing with any type of significant emotions other than the game itself was.... against the Giants in the Meadowlands. Their owner Wellington Mara had just passed away, and the Giants came out and kicked the shit out of us 35-0. |

Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
The Giants typically start slow, and they have had a decent amount of turnover this offseason. Losing both starting DE will hurt them more than people expect. I see the Redskins winning a close and physical game by relying on the running game. The defense will play a strong game despite allowing a good amount of points. Although if Landry and Taylor don't play the Redskins probably will not win the a divisional game on the road.

Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
redskins 27
giants 20. doughty picks eli in the final two minutes in the endzone to save the game. |
Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
With a damn heavy heart and the sincere hope of being wrong... 42-13 Giants.
Sure, their defense will not be as dominant, but I think people underestimate the Giants' offense now. Eli will be an elite QB this year and throw for a ton of TDs. Meanwhile, our offense continues to struggle behind JC and opposing d anticipating the same old rushing attack. |
Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
The giants won the super bowl mainly because of their pass rush (Strahan and HumanUrine) Where are they now? We should have beat them twice last year. I hope our team has more confidence than what I'm hearing here. GO SKINS! Rip em a new one!
Plenty of chicken littles out in full force.
So Matty, let me get you on record here... Nothing that you saw in the final two preseason games made you the least bit hesitant about the Redskins in any way, shape, or form? I just wonder if Zorn made things ridiculously simple in the HOF game, then after integrating more of the offense, the players got a little bogged down; maybe even regressed somewhat. |
Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
I'm usually pretty optimistic, but I don't have a good feeling about this year at all. This game could be very bad.
I'm usually pessimistic about the Skins. But somehow, I got some positive vibes around draft time -- looked at our personnel with Cooley, Portis, Moss; hoped that Campbell would make the jump to a top-level QB, and then things looked great at the HOF game. After that, they went back to giving me that sinking feeling. Joe Gibbs started out 0-5, Marty did the same, and poor Ritchie Petitbon goes 3-13 in his first year. I think the odds are against Jim Zorn coming roaring out of the gates. I think a lot of people are going to look back at this very moment and wonder why they didn't see it coming. |

Looking at the preseason as a whole it went about the way I expected it would. We saw some good things and we saw some bad things, and pretty much everything in between. My expectations for the season haven't changed based on what I saw during the preseason. I thought the Skins were an 8-10 win team before camp and I still do now. |

Redskins 28 - Giants 9.
Utterly horrible game for the Giants followed by the usual recriminations in the locker room. Embarrassing love-fest for the early season Redskins bandwagon. Landry will put a G-Man WR out for the game early on. You see, I have this crystal ball..... |

Re: Redskins/Giants Predictions
This game begins a tough year for both teams. We'll win it fairly closely - skins 20 g-men 14, but after that we might lose the next 3.
