Cooper is washed. Walking injury. Passing on him. Sign me some OL/DL/CB's and draft everything else.
Cupp is living off one great season Only 2 x 1000 yard seasons in 8 years. He isn’t worth much. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
ugh, pass on sassy Deebo. Is it me or does it seem like we are being linked to every potential trade/free agent out there.. I'm starting to question if this is truly due to us being an attractive destination now that we are winning, or is it because we are still associated with being offseason champions in the Snyder era where players came here to get paid
AP proved himself last offseason. DQ proved himself last season. We are now a few playmakers away from Superbowl contenders and a very attractive place for free agents. Nothing has to do with Snyder anymore. Thank God. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
I see AP being crafty again this year, beefing up the roster everywhere possible with FAs and picks whose names we aren’t thinking of right now. We can’t afford to deal many players or picks until we have more depth. Then strike in year 3 for a game changer, either D line or JD weapon.
We don't have a lot of draft capital, just seven picks (1,2,3,5,7,7,7), and three of those are 7th rounders...
These would be my FA targets: G: Kevin Zeitler/Mekhi Becton RT: Kendall Lamm BPA is the way to go in the draft.
Zeitler will be turning 35 and probably would prefer to stay in Detroit, all else being equal. Becton would be better for a multi-year deal and can play T or G. I think he would be a great pick up for the team to start at G and play T in a pinch. Kendall Lamm has bounced around a bit and only garnered short term contracts. I think he had a back issue to deal with. We do need an upgrade at RT but I'm not sure Lamm is it. I'd like to see an OL drafted for development. There isn't the top end super talented LT available in this draft but supposedly some with positive traits. BPA on the draft. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
Salary cap going up to 277.5 to 281.5. That’s up from 255.4 this year.
we only have two WR under contract for next year (luke and Terry)
I'm aware, I meant a 20-30mill$ a year guy. I'm also assuming we resign 2 of the current FA WRs from last year. |

I don't think it makes sense to get one of those 20-30 million free agents either. Peters is going to have to extend Terry in another year and it will be important to keep the WR dollars under control. We can get a mid-tier free agent WR who might be an upgrade from the previous supporting cast. I expect the team to resign more than 2 of their WR free agents to allow for competition (the extras will be cut in preseason). I'd like to believe that Dyami Brown's post season production wasn't a fluke, but who knows. If he signs elsewhere, the team will need another WR with some speed. I'd like to keep Noah Brown at a reasonable price. I have my fingers crossed that McCaffery will be more productive in 2025 - he's a good KR but that's not enough considering his draft position. |

Tried to pick this apart and can't; totally agree. Right now I'd bring both Brown's and Zaccheaus back if possible and draft someone if the right guy is BPA when we pick in later rounds; let the 5 fight over 4 slots. WR can't be a priority for FA or draft, when we need beef on the lines and another top CB. Then there's the likely need at RB too. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
the argument for a big name WR contract now is that it'd be the contract to hold until nabers hits FA (if you weren't sure about giving a big contract to TM soon).

There is no question we will extend McLaurin. I think the only way Giants wouldn't resign Nabers is if he refuses to sign with them. |
Re: Free Agent Targets
I looked at the wrong name when I said that I think we would try to target Joe Noteboom from Rams. I meant to say Alaric Jackson. That would allow us to move Coleman to G if the coaches believe he is better fit as G.

you don't think nabers would rather play with his good friend that has a better team and a better coaching staff? It's not like AP wouldn't pay him. |

That's a good future question but we know the Giants won't just give him away for cheap. If he refuses to sign with them so he can play with Jayden they will ask us for a premium to get him. |
