Re: Harris confirms name is here to stay
I agree with this.
Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk
Dude, u just flipped on a dime in back to back posts! :) BTW, I like the W as its the only thing they sell that I can wear that doesnt say commanders. And ur right, it isnt as bad as "eggplants" but none of em were. I am just saying it was arbitrary and not well thought out and now there like, well, we got lucky and had a good season with a crappy name, I guess that puts that to rest, next on to do list? Stadium. I would rather have a name I could proudly sing with an identity that makes sense with a so so stadium and good enough team with a shot very few years. And Im into the stadium and all, in fact, I built two six food collage's at the main gate mounted at the main gate at RFK for the whole season after we won the SB with Doug Williams. I am in to it! This last week was the only time in years I was able to go into the attic and pull out my Redskins Room crap and out it everywhere because it was the damn NFC Championship. So yeah, Im a little repressed here with all the Redskins shame. It really sucks. There is a solution somehow that ties the name. Redhogs, RedWolves, Redhawks, Warriors, i dont give a crap, but make it more relevant than a fricking Major Tuddy with a Commanders Eggplant! |
Harris confirms name is here to stay
For the record I wanted Red Wolves, and Tuddy is absolute garbage.
I was completely embarrassed to say Commanders. It was literally uncomfortable talking about them because I didn’t know whether to say Redskins, Skins, WFT, Washington, or what but I couldn’t bring myself to say Commanders. I never, ever would have voted for Commanders. At first I had to force myself to like it, but honestly I now do not hate it. I actually think it would be an awesome Hockey name, so it can’t be that bad for football. It will just take some getting used to. Can you imagine if Packers was a new name? Seriously. |
Re: Harris confirms name is here to stay
The Tuddy slander is outrageous!

No it is heart vs mind situation although I almost said the same thing. I want a full page ad because that is where my heart is at. BUT based on Harris' response, Matty's post is the logical action :( Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |

Re: Harris confirms name is here to stay
Can we shorten it to ‘Manders?
Come on Manders! Try saying it out loud like a pirate and tell me you aren’t happy. I just did. It was awesome. |

I just saw an article that Commanders is offensive to Native Americans ironically, because it was the Commanders who killed then and took their land. They want Redskins back. I frankly could get behind Red Wolves, partly because I am in NC and they are endangered on only on the NC coast at this point. Its not hard to make the switch and it ties to then song, old name, rhythm, and even the natural diminished but fighting spirit of Native Americans who respect wildlife so much, plus we may be able to save the species and wolves are nasty and are team animals, yeah, Redskins is ideal, but I know it is gone and this would check like every box. And then we could all enjoy a Tuddy Roast! Go Skins forever! Redwolves is the last true shot at a cool name and a bridge to our 100 year old identity |

you would think Patriots would be offensive to Native Americans . . . and Cowboys for sure! |

Yeah, dont forget the Vikings and Buccaneers, Raiders, they were killers too, if not by hand, by disease. Pretty sure the Texans were and army that went after them too. There are literally too many to count. If you counted wildlife like bears and lions and buffalo, there would be more. Native Americans got the shaft. I loved honoring them daily for 50 years. Underdogs with a huge fighting spirit. Outside folks dont get it. We love those guys! They are true American heros! And True Americans! It is a shame we can no longer honor them. |
