If the Skins beat the Titans I'll buy a JJ jersey if they even sell them.
Definitely not the future by any means, but it could be an awesome little story if he wins out and we get a playoff birth. Would certainly deserve a backup spot next year if he pulls it off.
Sounds like you are hoping for a Christmas Miracle. Only thing that is going to happen is an epic finger blasting courtesy of the Titans. Redskins get shutout in this one. While I love Silky Johnson, he isn't able to go deep. The Titans D is going stuff our box with 9 dudes at a time. Fortunately, Asa Akira is our 3rd string QB. |
Re: The Josh Johnson Thread
Is he better than Sanchize? Yeah, but that bar was set incredibly low. Sanchize couldn't even complete passes.
I like JJ and all but the reality is he's a backup qb who will be 33 next year. Maybe it's time to get younger at the position.
To be fair, Alex Smith couldn’t complete passes over 5 yards either. AP and the defense are who kept us in it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: The Josh Johnson Thread
I can't remember which thread the discussion of Cooley's pod was in, but there is a link and transcript of the whole thing on Reddit right now.

He said it was as bad as he's seen on film, that we're completely lost in the blocking assignments both in the run and the pass games, that when you have guys moving around you should try to make it simple for them, that we're not scheming to help our weaknesses... He wouldn't grade any Olinemen this week. It's that bad. He keeps saying he's not taking shot at any player or coach, that he's just educating the fans on what's not working... But when you keep pointing out bad scheme and un-preparation across the board, you are throwing some shade at the HC. EDIT: Cooley finished his podcast saying Jay needs to simplify his run plays, to adapt to what's happening, to the players he has. He made a comparison saying he coached some 11 years old flag football, he was having fun with his playbook until he realised they had no idea what he was talking about... Man I don't know if this is a bigger shot on Jay or on the players... but something is not done right in this locker room when pretty much nobody really knows what their blocking assignments are... from, OL through WRs, TEs and backs... |

Re: The Josh Johnson Thread
So if all Cooley said is correct then you have to wonder How good this team could be if all the players knew what the hell they were doing...hell we have a better record now than a lot of teams picked to go deep into playoffs ..the main reason Snyder will make changes is those empty seats ..my Christmas wish list is to clean house and hire a real GM to try and stabilize this ship..

:joke:
I remember Norm Snead with the Eagles. I am in my late 50's but I was watching sports when most kids were watching cartoons. I remember Sandy Koufax (I grew up in So Cal) pitching and he retired when I was 5. |

This roster isn't a loaded one by any means, still tons of holes especially on the Offense, I doubt any of that would all of the sudden make this team 13-3. Cooley likes to blab a lot about the team as does other former players. They act like when they were around the team was a dynasty or something. |
Re: The Josh Johnson Thread
Per Wapo:
Colt McCoy (broken leg) is hopeful he can return for Week 17. McCoy's season was thought to be over when he suffered a fractured fibula earlier this month, but he has resumed running and hopes to return for the season finale. Josh Johnson started at quarterback for Washington last week If Josh Johnson can pull off a miracle and plays decent...Colt needs to stay on the bench |

A staff that focused on training players on how to stay healthy and how to protect themselves could do more with this year's starting roster. A coach who doesn't pick players by loyalty but by ability could do a lot with this year's starting roster. I often wondered why JG succeeded in Arena Bowl, and struggles here to get over 8-8, and I think the answer is that in the Arena League not all talent was high level, so you could keep your favorites while scheming to hide their defects. Not so much in the NFL. |
