re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
I think that's far too punitive. But whatever...maybe it will give the Saints added motivation toward another ring.
There will probably be some fines and suspensions as well |
re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
The Saints should be punished by having to trade Breesus for John Beck.

I like it. You're my new favorite person.:) |
re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
This reminds me of a book I read back in the 1980s entitled "They Call Me Assassin" by Jack Tatum.
It's really terrible for the game. |
I've talked to a couple of people who say they expect the Saints to lose multiple draft picks this year and their 2013 1st round pick
wow, thats a little harsh imo. I mean, hasnt this gone on since the beginning of football? It may not be as elaborate as pooling money, but there has been incentives for this type of 'play' for awhile on multi-levels of football ie high school, college, and nfl. The thing of being told to quit and they didnt is certainly what will draw the harsh penalty, but a 1st round pick? Come'on man, thats insane. 4th, 5th round pick at the most, im not down with that. |
re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
I'd be willing to bet that this still goes on around the league. I have no problem with it. Trying to knock out the other teams best player has been around since the start of football. Again, as long as the hits are legal, and the ones against Farve and Warner were legal, then I have no problem with it. Of course Mr. Stiff Suit himself (Roger G.) is going to think differently.

Lotus Re: New Orleans Saints: Bounty Hunters The Saints should be punished by having to trade Breesus for John Beck. what are you talking about. Drew Brees is too short, and he only ran a 4.7 at his combine. Are you crazy!!!??????? |
re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
Washington Post Text alert says that Skins had similar system in place. Doesn't say when tho'. Loss of 2013 1st round pick sure would put a hiccup in the RGIII train!
EDIT: Nothing in the text alert talked about sanctions against the Skins. |
re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
I doubt they will take a 1st rounder, but I can see hefty fines for everyone involved, incuding Gregg Williams, suspensions of 1 or 2 games for active players and coaches, and maybe a 2nd round pick forfeited, but not a first rounder. I dunno though, Goddell does like to set an example, and has no quarrels with punishing severely without precedent.

re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
Maybe Brees won't want to resign with the "dirty saints". Benson, Payton, Williams and Loomis all should be suspended and draft picks taken away for this kind of bullshit. Williams is a jackass.

re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
According to the Washington Post, Gregg Williams was the master of the same bounty operation when he was the Redskins Assistant Head Coach Defense from 2004-2007.

What a dumb ass. Great thanks Williams. Probably will cost us a shot at RG3. Woohoo. |
Wow.....please No Skin's involvement........
Oh that's right, we got the Stoners..
Oh we did, they did, Packers did, etc. It's called football, not fairyball. I'm glad to hear teams still go out and punish other players lining up against them. I want to see Romo decapitated, I want to see Eli catch a high-low combo. Goodell can put the good foot forward, and have a nice pretty PR face about player safty, but I'm glad to hear that the players are still playing hard nosed football. :soapbox: end rant |
