This. So much this. |
Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
Orakpo, maybe a first definitely a second and either another second or a third.
Williams, pre-pot a 2nd and 4th, post-pot 3rd.
You're crazy. The asking price for a franchise LT has been set as a late first round pick. As seen in the Jason Peters trade. |

Now account for pot smoking (-1 or -2 rounds) and you get as the other poster suggested a 2nd to 4th round for TW. :) |
Some on here must b smoking what Trent has to think Willie Smith is better than him
Do u guys watch football |

4th rounders average out to special teamers or solid starters with little potential to even make the Pro-Bowl. You'd be ****ing stupid to give out a 4th. |

This. You don't accept less than a first for Rak. You don't accept less than a high second plus something else valuable for TW, and that's including the weed-smoking discount. Trading TW and/or Rak for someone like Luck is one thing. But it is baffling how some folks in this thread want to give away our best players for almost nothing. |

Talent would win out over concerns of marijuana use. The Redskins wouldn't be trying to send a message like the Steelers did with Santonio Holmes. If they were to trade Trent in the near future they would try to get full value which as I mentioned before would amount to a late first early 2nd. Of course all of this trade talk is a moot point . |

Well, it's also easier when the then-#3 WR was Mike Wallace and they banked on him being capable of becoming a #1 for them. ;) |
Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Trent Williams was a top 5 pick under the old system, and only 2 years into his deal. Were we to trade him, we would have to pay his entire bonus, and lose that cap space. Even if he doesnt play, I think we cant afford to move him anytime soon. Plus he is one failed drug test away from being suspended for a season, so I would be incredibly surprised if anyone offered much of anything for him. Finally, this is an O-line rich draft. Teams can just use their picks on players that are not subject to suspension.

He is one of the cornerstones of this team. Nope. |
Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
Luck is not worth both of our guys, maybe one, but not both. Luck is a very good QB, but very few of these CFB QB gods pan out. Leinart didn't, Harrington didn't, Carr didn't. The best QBs in the NFL received some critical acclaim come draft dat, but weren't gods, and one(Brady) was a late round pick. Big Ben, Drew, and Matt Stafford all garnered good press, but not like Leinart, Bradford, Newton, and now Luck. Every big game Luck was in he was brought down to earth. Even with Newton being a stud, he still can't get his team a win, much like MJ and the Bulls before Pippen and co. One guy isn't going to turn our team around. We need multiple pieces to the puzzle.

I agree but The skins have never truly had a FRANCHISE Qb since maybe JoeT, this team and fan base is starving for a QB to lean on for a decade |

Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
Orakpo is a major asset to the team and second thoughts says any thoughts to trading him is not smart.
Silverback, while showing major potential, is logical candidate to involve in a move up trade to get Luck along with our 1st round pick either this years, or preferable next year's. Silverback shows promise, but im sorry the weed thing showed a major character flaw IMO. Now weed is not serious to me, and i could careless if he smokes as long as passes it and keeps the rotation going. But to be as careless and Ricky Williams about testing is flat out stupid. Is he the type that is gonna come back, work harder, learn from this mistake, and become that probowl talent he is capable of? Work hard wasnt his mo at school from what i remember. Its gonna be very interesting how he responds, so far crickets. Id let Silverback go to get that Franchise QB talent we have lacked in Luck and not give a second thought. |
Re: Would you consider trading Orakpo and Trent Williams for picks?
for straight up picks? no. if it's for a QB worth talking about, or moving up for luck, maybe.
willie smith is not is not is not trent williams. let's not get crazy. he's looked good, but not "why do we even need trent williams here" good... not even close. |
