That 2nd rounder became Tatum Bell... so at least the pick didn't become a Hall of Famer or anything
Matty: That is the good news... The bad news is that Tatum Bell was selected by ... Mike Shanahan. |

They got a stud. They dumped two duds for a slightly better dud. Of course Matt Millen being a moron helps. Fact is that even though Denver screwed the pooch, Denver gave themselves a better chance to improve their team beyond just getting Bailey. We got Portis, but denyed ourselves the ability to have a chance to help our team in addition to Portis.
Is it that hard to just say the 2nd rounder didn't work out for them? |
Is it that hard to just say the 2nd rounder didn't work out for them?
I think I already said something about screwing the pooch.
Regardless, the strategy, for lack of a better word, employed by the Skins FO was bad regardless of the end result. A straight-up trade would have been feasible, but they had to give up the pick. I already said Denver screwed the pooch with regards to what they actually got. But, Denver's strategy was better. They gave themselves more chances to get a good player out of their duds. They weren't successful, but they gave themselves more chances. |
