Could we be trading up to grab someone else, like Orakpo?
Well we did have dinner with him so... |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
So in either case you'd be okay with seeing Mark Sanchez start at QB against the New York Giants on September 13? Assuming we could get a 1st or a 2nd for Jason Campbell?
Is it possible Campbell is done as a Redskin this year even if they aren't able to get Sanchez?
I'd rather they kept Campbell, accepted that he's not a superstar QB, but a really good one that they can win with if they build pieces around him (namely, in front of him). But they appear not to be committed to keeping him long term. So if you're going to let him go then get something out of it. And if you're going to commit so heavily to another project essentially, then go balls to the wall and truly commit. If you think he's the next Matt Ryan, then play him like the Falcons played Ryan. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Well drafting Sanchez at 13 is questionable, but I'd be ok with it, provided we are able to move Campbell for something solid and can make some other moves to get some more day 1 picks to fill needs.
Trading up to get Sanchez is very questionable, but I'd be ok with it, provided we (see above). But it's less likely we could do that if we trade up for Sanchez. But trading up to #5 is not likely going to be enough to get us Sanchez anyway, and besides haven't we learned not to get so worked up over every rumor that's out there. Or not?
SS u r often a voice of reason much appreciated...but in this case (the Sanchez issue) I think there is a bigger picture that is getting uglier all the time. At some point it's become clear the FO isn't really sold on X,Y or Z QB but instead just wants to find a way to jettison JC. For instance, Cutler and Sanchez are very different QBs. If anything Stafford is a similar slinger to Cutler. Yet our owner gets butterflies about 2 very different styled QBs, neither of which have any experience w/ Zorn's version of the WCO, and in Sanchez a guy w/ really limited experience. Snyder looks like a nutcase at this point IMO, but I have to wonder about his real purpose. He's pissed and sh*t all over JC so badly now it's like Snyder is baiting the kid to work w/ his agent toward a trade... Now u might ask why Snyder would go such a roundabout way to reach this end...why not be direct and have started the trade stuff much earlier. Is that really how Snyder does football? Nothing has been straightforward since Gibbs left. In fact before Gibbs had cleared out for good Snyder was already taking the low road, sending it over the wires Greg Williams had disrespected Gibbs and created a real problem for everyone. Snyder, clearly, doesn't know how to end things respectably if he wants them ended. |

Well, did Orakpo have veal? LOL. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Well it looks like the Jason Campbell era will soon be over.. I don't know if Sanchez is a HUGE upgrade over Campbell!!!!!! But DS loves Sanchez and we all know he will do what it takes to get him.
Day one will be done AMAZINGLY fast for us if we do this deal...as in 1 pick and done til Sunday!
Day 1 is already going to be a single draft pick unless we trade down. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Mack at 13 is better than trading all of our picks for Cutler or Sanchez. You'll be saying I was right when Raback falls down and breaks a hip.
Or really even if he's totally healthy.

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
So what are people's thoughts if we moved up to get Orakpo? I mean, having Carter, Griff, Haynesworth, and Orakpo at the line would be pretty sick I think.
|
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
I'm as high on the idea of getting Orakpo here as I've ever been.
I'm going to say this: if we're willing to trade up just a few picks, we might just be in position to land Aaron Curry. That would be one heck of a draft steal at, say, No. 8. |

Hmmm...I'd be happier trading up for Jason Smith or Monroe if either guy falls a bit. Time to grab another bookend tackle. |

Nope he ate the raw flesh of lions. That's the kind of guy we need on this team. |

 Oh man, too funny. LOL.
Hmmm...I'd be happier trading up for Jason Smith or Monroe if either guy falls a bit. Time to grab another bookend tackle.
Jason Smith is not going to fall past #2, and well I have read a few articles talking about concerns over Monroe's knees (Peter King's article where he talks about Snyder and Sanchez being one of them). If Jason Smith falls it would be super, so would Curry, and I wouldn't mind Orakpo. I wonder who is the top player on the Skins draft board. |

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
You know what would be awesome? If the Browns and Skins make the trade before the draft and the Seahawks take Sanchez, then Danny would eat shit and maybe learn a lesson the hard way. This won't happen, I guarantee that the Seahawks will take Sanchez. The only way this trade occurs is if they trade with either Detroit, Rams or Chiefs.

Hey Danny can eat all the crap in the world, I wouldn't mind if this happened b/c then we can get Orakpo, Jason Smith (if he were to fall that far), or some other top player that is not Mark Sanchez. |
