re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
If we've got a deal in place to move Sanchez, then sure, we could draft him. But in that case, why not just make the trade prior to the pick? I wouldn't draft him with nothing more than a hope that we can trade him.
Sorry...that's what I meant in the first place. Bait for trading picks... |

Edited the title again for further clarification
Sanchez as trade-bait...maybe the Lions will value him at 13 and trade-up to get him. (I doubt they take a QB w/ the first pick...hell I'd take J. Smith, Curry or Raji all before the top QBs). Still the draft is really so unpredictable so I won't be surprised no matter what happens.
that is a good point. If detroit passes on stafford and sanchez slips to us, they could throw some picks at us to get sanchez. |
Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
Since the thread was who should the skins draft if they had the lions first 3 picks not who should the lions draft
1. Jason Smith 20. Clay Matthews 33. Alex Mack Do we still have 13 in this scearnio |

Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
After:
1. Jason Smith 20. Beanie Wells I'd take Alex Mack at 33 if he was there, but if he isn't, I'd go defense, probably Clint Sintim. |

1. Jason Smith 20. Clay Matthews 33. Alex Mack Do we still have 13 in this scearnio
This looks good to me. I might switch Mack to #20 and take the best LB available at #33 to be sure I got Mack, but I would be very happy with those 3. Beanie Wells at #20 would sure shake Portis up wouldn't it? :) |

not really since it was portis who was trying to recruit Edge James to come here before he went to the Cards. |

Well that's true but Edge is a couple of years older than Portis and they're friends. Him, Tana, and Edge are pretty tight and Edge is certainly no threat to Portis. No more than S. Alexander was. A young Beanie Wells with the skill set he possesses might not be so welcome. It's hard enough for Betts to get on the field without Portis having a fit. |
Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
1. A.Curry olb
2.T.Jackson de if available , or best oline 3.best oline available - A.Mack ,P.Landot , D.Robinson If you have the first pick ,you take the best player in the draft regardless of need. It's to much money wasted on a possible bust prospect that will cripple a team financially . Plus OLB is a need for us anyway ,just not as much as o and d line . We have a top defense with no turnovers and brought in Hanesworth to help that. Theres not another player that could have as much impact on are defense as Curry. Also there is some Oline depth and would be able to pick up one or two with the 20th and 33rd picks. |
Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
1- Curry
2- Mack 3- Sidbury or Barwin That wouldn't break my heart either. |
Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
1- Monroe
20 - Ayers 33 - Mack |
Re: Who Should the Skins Draft If They Had the Lions' First Three Picks?
Crap, man I didn't read the thread title. All right lets see.
If I felt Oher was going to be available at 20 1. Aaron Curry 1a. Michael Oher 2. Alex Mack 3. Lawrence Sidbury If I felt Rey was going to be available at 20 1. Jason Smith 1a. Rey Maualuga 2. Alex Mack 3. Sidbury |
There's nothing new to talk about until the 14th when the new schedule comes out.(Unless the Redskins sign a free agent) Anyway, I was looking at the Detroit Lions 1st 3 picks. They have #1, #20, and #33. If the Skins had those 3 picks who would draft ?
For me i'd say Jason Smith at #1 of course. We all know we need help at the OT position. The most likely good linebacker left from USC at #20 probably will be Clay Matthews. So i'd take him there. At #33 without question would be Alex Mack. After looking at this I can honestly say for the 1st time in my life i'm jealous of the Detroit Lions.
I have to say...WHO CARES....WE DON'T |
