Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I just read the recap on espn, they actually said it was the games best play
Baltimore's Adalius Thomas returned Marc Bulger's fumble 70 yards for a confusing score in the first half, but there was no confusion about the game's best play: Sean Taylor, the maverick Washington safety, broke the unwritten rule about hard hits in an exhibition when he viciously leveled Buffalo punter Brian Moorman on an attempted fake in the third quarter. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
How can you say that? Chad Johnson blew by him for a long TD. Ronde Barber gave up his coverage, thinking Sean was playing deep, and he wasn't, a problem of his all season long. The announcers even said Carson Palmer was put back in to take advantage of Sean deep. I'm a bit concerned about his deep coverage skills.
i missed these plays but hes seriously bites on the playfake often. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
no matter how you feel about Taylor's season, that was one helluva of a hit

Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
First of all, the hit was FREAKING awsome.
But I hear what you're saying. Its not so much his coverage skills as it is his poor decision making. I honestly think Sean can (and i've seen) run 1 on 1 with any reciver in the league, its just that he needs to stay the hell home and not bite so hard on the play action.
It happened enough times during the year that Sean had to be shown on film how he gave up big plays because he bit so hard. I hope he's not like B Lloyd yelling at coaches, thinking he's got it all figured out. As many great plays Sean made this year, there were enough boneheaded plays that ticked me off. That was a nice hit! |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
STs performance didn't surprise me one bit...I hope this shuts up all those that were saying he didn't deserve to be there. He was clearly one of the better athletes on the field...I guess he stood out because he was able to be Sean Taylor again and play of his great instincts, not having to worry about "The Scheme".
uh...did you see him get burned a few times in pass coverage? Chad Johnson got one for about 60+ yards on him. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
It was certainly unessescary, but it wasn't at all dirty.
well running a fake punt was unnecessary , run a play like that expect to get hit maybe next time he, the punter, will respect the D a lil more. |

You can say that his hit was unessescary, but what would one expect, I mean deep down everyone on the field are competitors. And I am sure that at some point in the game they let that competitive nature take over and they may forget that it is all in good fun... |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I can't believe we're nitpicking on this hit... well actually I can believe it.
Just enjoy it for what it was. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
it was not a dirty hit. but would love to see him do that to a wr or rb instead of always getting burn in coverage

The only reason he made the Pro-bowl is because he does that Wideouts and RB's all the time. I like how ESPN's writers are insinuating that he broke an unwritten rule yet you see the replay every 5 minutes on their network. There is definitely an anti-Washington bias at that network. As far as the "unwritten rule", if he lets up the punter probably gets a first down. I would compare that to National Geographic. Nobody criticizes the lion when they pounce on the helpless gazelle. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
maybe last year but he didnt do it this year. was a great hit
|
Re: Did you see that Sean Taylor hit?
I don't know if any of you watch the pro bowl, I rarely do myself, but I just happened to have it on when Sean Taylor layed out the Bills punter Brian Mormon. Incredible hit!
That hit was for you all you no goods that said he didn't deserve to be there! HA! .... TAKE THAT!! GO SEAN! |

Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
he wasnt voted to the pro bowl he was a alternate. Yes a great hit but he got burn as usaul in coverage. Just like Gus wasnt voted but went in because the other were injured. That doesnt make them a pro bowler. You have to be voted in as a starter or back up. Not get there because other players dont because of injury. I'll say it once more was a great hit, but he has to be more consistant all around and he wasnt this year. One hit doesnt justifiy going to the pro bowl. how about picking a ball off sometime huh not getting killed in coverage every game. He a good player but was a hell alot better last year than this year.

Duh! I think we all know he was an alternate and those that didn't were informed after the thousand post about how ST ended up going to the Pro Bowl. ST was running all over the place yesterday trying to make plays. I think you and others are WAY too hard on him because of the big chip you have on your shoulders that we've been Superbowl-less all of these years. |
