Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
The Panthers would have won without the terrible officiating.
That said, Boger (Booger) would have been booed and shamed out of the NFL in mid-season if he had been a replacement NFL ref. He has always been horrible. |
I've been watching him. No explosiveness at all coming off the edge.
He can't cover either. Smith should not have been drafted as an OLB because he is too slow for that position in the NFL. The Skins had him lose weight to play OLB. I think they should have him gain weight to play DT. |

We happen to be one of the teams that they are against. Even though I disagree with the call against Culliver, its a non issue if they call the 4 or 5 times that the panthers did it. I know Jordan Reed had the same kind of hit in the first quarter, where he is still considered in the defenseless phase. Garcon had several of the same thing. Call any one of the 4 or 5, and they can claim that it went both ways, but they didnt. If its such a dangerous play, then why the one time we did it, its a penalty but the multiple times they did it... nothing. |
Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Horrible, horrible penalty.
Honestly, I don't think he was ever interviewed
Im pretty sure we spoke to him, but we chose to go in another direction. We could have easily had him as the D coordinator. He woulda loved to coach with his son here. |
Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Yes obviously we have deficiencies. Im just not ready to start looking towards fixing them yet. Too much left to play for at this point. We win next week and we are in first place due to division record if i am not mistaken. We will fix things that need to be fixed in due time.
That's exactly my point.
There is too much to play for without identifying and addressing the deficiencies that can be addressed through coaching/scheme and gameplan. If the team doesn't play with more discipline, if the run game doesn't improve if the run defense doesn't improve if the passing game doesn't become more explosive if we can't get more sacks then we're not winning squat. Imo most of the above areas can be improved enough through coaching to get better results. |
Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
...the only way we should have a coaching change if everything falls apart in the next games.
Certainly. But are you happy with current play of all areas of the team if status quo was maintained?
For me thats not good enough. |
Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Watching it at a bar, so I couldn't hear much and missed some plays, but it looks like the team straight up gave up after those two big calls. There was actually a ton of intensity up until the phantom Reed holding call. It was like the team just straight quit. I agree, good teams don't do that, but damn, the effort just went to 1% and EVERYONE KNOWS you have to give 110%! :D

For me thats not good enough.
bingo...me neither. Like ive stated previously, we are a more talented team this year with the same bullshit results. Im probably gonna start a thread, but I want to know who is satisfied with another double digit loss season? Too me, if we loss 10 again, Gruden, McVay, Barry should fucking go. Keep Callahan, Fewell and Special Teams coach... |
Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
I could stomach the loss if we were competitive! i am starting to believe that Gruden is not the answer at all. Cousins actually did not play bad under the circumstances..NO RUNNING GAME..NO BLOCKING..it was all on him. Our D is horrible..i blame that on the D coordinator..He needs to be fired.

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
That officiating crew needs to be fired. Those morons actually talked it over and still called unnecessary roughness on Culliver??? They should return their paychecks for that POS performance.

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
I heard an interview with Clinton Portis last week in which he commented that rushers like Morris need to get in a bunch of reps before they start finding their groove. I'd like to see them commit to Morris and keep Jones on the bench. Morris has great for us for three years, Jones likes to cough up the ball. Why did Morris get two carries yesterday??

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Jim Zorn was 2-of-17 for 25 yards, completing both passes to Steve Largent. Sherman Smith ran the ball seven times for 16 yards, and there were five other runs that totaled seven more yards. Had that been the end of it, the Seahawks would have gained 48 yards against the Rams, which would be good for the 16th-worst total in NFL history.
But that wasn't the end of it. Though they didn't keep individual sack numbers at the time, Zorn was credited as going down six times (I've seen different totals for this, going as high as eight) and losing 55 yards. The Seahawks total offense that day was -7 yards, the worst performance that the league has ever seen. They gained one first down all game long and never made it past their own 42 yard line. Minus 7 yards: The Seahawks and the worst offensive performance in NFL history - Field Gulls We ran for 14 yards total, lost 35 yds on 5 sacks = -21 yds rushing Redskins vs. Panthers - Team Statistics - November 22, 2015 - ESPN This is getting statistically impossible for our running game to be this bad. Has any team ever rushed for negative rushing yards wout considering yds lost for sacks? ---- coff - morris sd he had a rib injury, he had hurt it previously and sd something like "it just popped out today" and he popped it back in. ive never heard of a rib "popping out" unless its a fractured rib but hes a tough dude. |

Re: Skins @ Panthers gameday thread
Poor tackling and undisciplined penalties definitely land square in the laps of the coaches.
I think we've got a pretty average coaching staff. Give them elite talent and they'll get outsmarted in the playoffs by the best coaches. Jay knows how to scheme an offense and keep the chains moving. But the staff doesn't keep the team disciplined enough to avoid penalties. Players stop pursuing plays when they think their teammate has made a tackle, there's no discipline there. Gregg Williams made sure there were always 6 Redskins meeting at the ball carrier. That's not happening here. I'm definitely not satisfied with the coaching staff. |
