The league has changed the days of sitting a Rookie to "learn" are over
I think this past season's rookie QB class was a proof of that. |

This from cbssports.com Not exactly your character guy you look for considering Alshon, Blackmon (well he has one charge on him from his 4 years of college), Kendall Wright are better people and players IMO.
I live here in SC and this kid is the real deal if you ask me. Have met his father and brother. Extremely solid and well grounded people and Alshon is the same. Some team in the NFL will be happy with adding this kid. To be a top playmaker at WR and still have a humble head on your shoulders is a great thing to get in a player. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I am starting to think with the 6th pick the Skins should either take BPA or trade back and aquire picks. We are not getting Luck and RGIII might not even be coming out this year! Blackmon will almost certainly be gone as will Kalil. One thing I do NOT want is to use this draft pick on is a CB. I dont think either Clayborn or any other CB is worth the #6 pick. Maybe grab the OT from stanford?
So it is starting to look to me like we will not be drafting a new day 1 starting QB in this years draft. So looking at FA options it would seem to be Hoyer, Flynn (going to be overpaid by someone) maybe trade for Clausen or Brady Quinn........yeesh.
Report: Heisman winner RGIII is headed for the pros | National Football Post No he is entering the draft. |

No he is entering the draft.
Article is a bit dated, and there is still speculation that he may return to Baylor.
And who was suggesting earlier that Jefferson should get a look because he led the offense that had done so well this year?! ha!
Yeah! No seriously I'll take that hit. Again I figured if you are the #1 team in college and then it should stand to reason that if your QB got you there then he should be a decent candidate. I think I watched the firs quarter and part of the 2nd then changed the channel when it was still 6-0. I was baffled as to why LSU kept trying to run, run option, QB run if it was going no where. Then I see maybe two passes and both were of the 10 to 15 yard variety only to go back to the run, run, run that went nowhere. I even asked a co-worker today why they didn't change out the QB in the second quarter just to see if the second stringer could provide a spark. Then I see on MSN.com they had the same question why wasn't the QB changed out? Other news flash for the QB... rule of physics.... if you are running the ball and your going to get caught anyway.... either try to get atleast 1 yard or commit to just trying to run over the defender instead of starting to run, stop, then decide to try and dance your way out of it. Jefferson = pass. maybe he can change to a FB in the NFL cause he will suck at QB. |
The Colts won't trade Luck, I know it sucks because I'm right w ya but I've already moved on.. Maybe Flynn or RG3.
Your right. Reality check: P.Manning is probably done Colts will take Luck as replacement RGIII might be available Grossman/Beck both need to go. Vet replacement- Flynn. I can see Flynn as our Vet RGIII or Tannehill as our #2 and a late round drafted QB or UDFA to challenge Crompton for the PS. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I know this isn't the popular answer, but I like the offense with Rex. I don't love it. I don't think we are gonna win it all with him, but I do think if we can't land who we want at Q with the 6th pick, i'm for sure good with taking best available. Landry Jones and RG3...no thanks. Jones is in no way a top 10 or maybe even 1st round Q, and I don't think RG3 is going to be anything more than a Q with Vince Young tendencies. We have plenty of needs we can address at 6 and either go with Rex or another vet at Q.

I presume you issue is his character but I'd challenge by asking did you have the same issue's with Taylor when he was still alive? spitting on opponants and getting a DUI? How about TW and Davis? should we trade them away? Young men will be young men. They make mistakes/poor choices. If Big Ben was available would you be against the team trying to get him? with all his transgressions? Sometimes the character police need to look the other way. sometimes. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
The big question is what type of QB are MS and KS looking for? We fans can all day say Luck is the perfect QB... the best of the best coming out. But he might not have something our coaches are looking for. Same with RGIII. RGIII is probably a great QB for a team who will be looking to expect the QB to make some runs similar to what the Panthers are doing with Newton. Will KS work with that? call plays just for that?
Fans here screamed for Beck because he was more mobile and honestly I didn't see KS calling plays that would benifit that. It seemed like KS wanted a QB to sit in the pocket, roll out when he wanted the QB to roll out. All I'm saying is the top two might not be the QB our coaches are even looking at. |

They are already a year behind in rebuilding (McNabb set this organization back a year) and I am afraid this offseason they are going to do what they should have done last offseason (pick up a second round QB or later). Unless there is a tremendous red flag, I really wish they would go after RG3. Maybe they can find the next Andy Dalton between Tannenhill or Foles, but I don't know if that lighting can strike twice. Let's just hope that Flynn turns out to be the next Schaub and not the next Kolb/Whitehurst. |

I would counter by saying that Floyd hasn't even left college and is getting into all this trouble, imagine when he has the money and fame...ST changed his life when he had his baby girl and realized that she was more important than him partying it up driving drunk etc. (however going after someone with a machete isn't exactly the smartest thing to do) Davis and Trent I don't remember off the top of my head, but Williams was 'would be an all pro if he tries and gives his full effort; not being so lazy' Davis I just remember him missing a meeting because he overslept. He hasn't done that since, he's just messed with weed numerous times. That is bad and greatly hurts his playing career, but whats worse, drunk driving and risking yours and someone elses life, or smoking weed? |
