Re: 2012 redskins
I don't think Smith is quite ready for the starter role just yet. I would give him another year or two on the bench as a backup before I start him going into a season.
You draft DeCastro as G,Slide Lichetensteiger to C, Smith to RT, now you got a hell of an OL. Montgomery and Hurt are your backup G's, draft another T in the 4th round. Williams, Chester/Monty, Lichentesnteiger, Decastro, Smith.
Smith was one of the worst grades I just put up. It's polumbus who's better than him.. |
Re: 2012 redskins
Just from watching the games Polumbus passed the eye test a few times though he struggled with some of the top pass rushers when they moved to his side. I remember Ware having a go at him more then a few times.

Re: 2012 redskins
Polumbus was/is really awful. It's not like we have a recent history of strong RT play, so I understand why he would pass the eye test for some. He looks like a starter out there!
(that's not a compliment) |
Re: 2012 redskins
Anybody else like David Molk center from Michigan with one of our 4th round picks.
Anybody else like David Molk center from Michigan with one of our 4th round picks.
I don't think he's the best C in the draft, but if you can get him in the 4th round, that'd seem like a smart use of a pick.

Re: 2012 redskins
Smith and Polumbus were both absolutely dreadful. I can't say who's worse between the two, but at least Smith has some potential I guess.
|
Re: 2012 redskins
Smith went against Pierre-Paul, Sack leader Jared Allen and Trent cole. He gave up 2 sacks and held his own after a few shaky starts. The kid is got a future and the only way to get better which he did, is to play him.

Re: 2012 redskins
honestly both smith and polumbus were bad, but in terms of what I saw, I thought Polumbus looked better. I still would draft a RT though, a lot of good ones are coming out.

Well, if don't get DeCastro (because we didn't get RGIII) then the backup plan is Jonathan Martin T also from Stanford. |

Look man, I love DeCastro, I think he's a great player, but this line's weakness is Tackle, so Martin is more likely, I don't see us going guard until atleast 3rd round. |

Re: 2012 redskins
not saying we should go after either of those guys in those links, but two great players that are going to be FA's Carl Nicks and Ben Grubbs, both young all pro guards. I'm happy with Chester and Lichtensteiger, but that doesn't mean Shanny/Allen/snyder are happy with them..
