Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
I'm sure they know whether it's a torn ACL or partially torn at this point? They don't have to wait for surgery to determine initial damage
I take all information with a grain of salt until it comes to fruition. Things change, communication is lost, and teams flat out lie.
As far as things being a secret. HUGE secret and there has to be a reason why. James Andrews backs’ Shanahan’s account of Griffin’s re-entry of Baltimore game Now we have Dr. Andrews backing Shanahan's account of the Baltimore game.
I think you, like other fans really need to get over all of this IMO. Unless Shanahan and Snyder threatened RG3 to bench him if he didn't play hurt, I think a lot of these conspiracy theories are just stupid. Yes teams lie all the time (see Bill B. in New England), we always hear stories of players all of the sudden having surgery at the end of the season b/c they've been hiding injuries or playing through them. I'm not defending the stupid decisions that both Shanahan and RG3 made over the course of these couple of weeks. I just think all of these allegations and conspiracies and insider's information coming out of the woodwork are just pointless. |

Actually listening to the Opening Drive this morning Amani Toomer was discussing that. He had an inconclusive MRI done on his knee, and the only way to figure out if there was damage done to the ACL, MCL, and PCL was to have exploratory surgery. Once they got in there they found his ACL to be torn. At which time he had to have reconstructive surgery done on the knee. The fact that it is the same knee from 2009 is what is making it difficult to determine the extent of the damage. I would be surprised if we got the results of the surgery today. |

I'm just discussing this as there isn't anything else to discuss at the moment. In the end, it's not my knee, not my career, and certainly not my investment. I've had my ACL tear and screws in the knee, I'll let other people have the fun. You don't see a issue with a world renowned doctor going against a coaches version of what happened, and then turning around and backing it? That isn't miscommunication, that's a coverup. There is nothing conspiracy to it. Now, the stuff about him straining his ACL in the Baltimore game, THAT is conspiracy.
Honestly, we probably won't know anything for sure until they do exploratory surgery.
Happening today. |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
Bad news. Two ACLs, and a LCL early in his career.
When he comes back we just need to scrap the option offense. There are reasons it is not used in the pro's. RG3 is just a good, accurate QB that can win games with traditional offenses. Why throw your elite QB to the wolves? Peyton, Brady, Rodgers don't usually miss games -- and our QB was concussed and tore ligaments. More of this and he's moving towards Vick's career path and out of the league in a couple of years.. We NEED to upgrade O-line for pass blocking, and eventually will need another elite WR to help create a passing game without option schemes. |

His inability to slide or run out of bounds is. There is nothing wrong with him running or scrambling, but he has to be smarter. That extra yard isn't worth it when looking at the big picture. If it's super bowl and he's at the goal line, I'll change my stance. Until that happens, the kid needs to wise up or he's not going to last long in this league. Also, if you hadn't notice, the option offense has been ran less and less over the 2nd half of the season. |

He just needs to slide and get down. Against Seattle he got hurt running to the sideline on a pass play and the re re injured it on a bad snap. And remember the knee was originally hurt cause he didn't slide feet first. Had he done that he would not have been hurt in the first place. |

If you know who he is, then say so. You haven't been active here long enough to get away with this sort of ambiguity. :) |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
An ACL recovery story about a player not named AP. I hope RG3 is a quick healer:

So I'm hearing we'll get news on the knee today

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
I have to agree with Monkeydad on his HTTR247 comments.
As for the RG3 ACL which no one has been able to give a consensus correct report on, the big thing which some of you are missing here is not that he (possibly) tore his ACL, but that he has re-tore the same ACL from college, which means longer road to recovery. Showing that AP and Philip Rivers went back to normal in 8 months doesn't mean RG3's going to get better that quickly. |
Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
My god.....cut his ass open, stitch his damn ligaments and sew him up.
This dicking around drama is pissing me off. |
