One of the things I've kept wondering since this story has come out is has Johnson experienced some sort of head trauma from playing football. It obviously in no way justifies his actions but it at least explains them as it really does seem out of character for him to do something like this.

Well, apparently he had a similar charge brought against him (and subsequent probation) back in college. I don't know the details of that incident, nor this one really.

But I do know that for 12 years in the NFL the worst he did was that people just didn't like his "goofiness" Never mind the work he put in. Shame that now there's a lot of "told you so"

I'll second that. For the better part of his career he backed up his talk, and his talk is the worst thing he's ever done. It's kinda ridiculous that people are using the fact that he's an attention whore to justify their opinions now. He's hardly as bad as some of the guys in the NFL.

For now. He'll get hurt again. He always does.

Victor Cruz is better than him anyway.

He smacked his girlfriend in the face after accusing her of cheating on him. He was charged with Domestic Battery and did not complete his punishments of graffiti removal and violence counseling on time. He was granted an extension and finally completed it. He also had 3 years probation.

SO...that argument of "but he's not a bad person" hasn't ever really been true.

Of course he's not the worst, we have had murderers and rapists on active rosters around the league. But, it's not an excuse for his own lowlife actions and crimes. I have zero respect for any man that strikes a woman...even if she deserves it. If she's attacking you with a knife, you have to do what you need to do to defend yourself, but this wasn't the case. He just has a habit of abusing women.

I've said what I'm gonna say about this. Let the courts decide what's next

Did you just get hired by Evelyn Lozada to represent her? Sounds like it...lol

How about we hold up on judging the man before the case is heard and the facts come out. Also, what do you consider a habit? Possibly two times in 13-14 years is now a habit? Strong wordage there.

How about no times in 14 years? Like other normal men out there.

^ Yeah, I just turned 50 and have not once struck a woman, ever. Twice in about a decade seems like a kind of habit to me.

skinsfaninok 08-14-2012 10:09 PM

Listen we all want to smack a hoe:) no really women push us to the edge at times but I've never hit one and I don't ever intend too. Only if they have a weapon (knife, bat etc.) But that's it.

So are there any actual NFL news going on?

Hard Knocks was pretty good last night. I have to admit, watching Johnson get cut was tough. But he has no one to blame but himself.

Tough 48 hours. His VH1 reality show gets cancelled. Head butts his wife. Gets thrown in the slammer. Cut from the Dolphins. Wife is filing for divorce. What a douche. He had it coming.

Did the VH1 cancellation come first? Or was that a result of the headbutt?
