Being a Commanders fan is weird.

We hope that whatever is reported is not only true at face value, but even worse. Just get rid of Captain Fuckboy. I'd be willing to go 0-34 the next 2 years (while watching every second of all 34 losses, knowing we won't win), with no 1st round picks, to get rid of him.
This is kind of long but Peter King talks about how great the Washington franchise and the fan base was before Snyder owned them.

At this point I don't understand why Dan still wants to own the team. This is a dead franchise, he is hated by what fans are left. No one likes the re-brand except skinsfaninok lol. It just doesn't seem worth it to be under this kind of scrutiny all the time. He brought it on himself of course but why not just throw in the towel and move on w/ your life? Take your billions and enjoy yourself. Go on your boat to the south of France w/ 20 hookers and really enjoy life. Sounds like more fun than owning this team.

Because he doesn't think like most guys on the street. He can't believe he's been wrong, it's not his fault, he's always been a success, so it doesn't compute he's failed as an owner. He wants to leave a legacy for his kids. If there was any hope of him selling up at this point I'd say it vanished when Tanya became a co-owner and stepped in. If anyone was going to persuade him to throw in the towel it was her, and if anything she's doubled down by stepping in. Only hope here is the NFL pressures him to sell (because he's ripped/pissed them off) or he gets convicted of a major crime. Not sure I see either happening at this point.

Yeah Dan is not stepping down willingly IMO. The more he's getting pushed out, the more he's going to get arrogant and fight for it. On Sheehan's podcast Thom Loverro talked recently of the time he and other journalists were contacted by the then WFT's PR department to rectify the fact that Snyder was not suspended by the league and just focusing on the stadium search, and that Dan wasn't fined, the team was...

He's not going away unless he's made to. That may very well still be a possibility though...
The NFL has already made it pretty clear that Dan isn't ever going anywhere. Argue with me about it, but I only point out that the known things he has done while owner continue to get worse and worse and he is still here, in no danger.

Cooking the books in any other company would find you in jail most likely, but not here. And even if he would be convicted of something, he most likely would serve his time and still be the owner. There's nothing short of MAYBE first or second degree murder, that would get him out. And I say Maybe because again, the league could and probably would be totally fine with Dan serving his time in prison and continuing to have people run the team in his absence. Plenty of people have been in prison and still maintained outside business interests / responsibilities.
Sadly, I agree, although I hope we are both wrong.

Between the once fabled waiting list morphing into BS, reducing capacity of FedEx, StubHub purchases, and other things, Danny will pass this chicanery off as accounting errors.

I have said it before, but if your name is Mara, Tisch, Jones, or Lurie, you like having Danny as the Washington owner. You like it a great deal. A permanently crippled divisional opponent helps your record and his vulgar personality and corrupt management make you look like a saint.

Now, why are those abandoning the franchise wrong?

Snyder and his BS is just exhausting, can't imagine what the other owners think of him, they have to be seriously sick of his shit too

Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner

If “integrity” mattered to Goodell and the NFL’s billionaire owners, then the claim that Ross offered bribe money to Flores to intentionally lose games in the 2019 season would have already launched a massive investigation into the validity of those claims. Simply put, the NFL is nothing if it does not have the trust of the viewing — and betting — public.

https://boston.cbslocal.com/2022/02/02/nfl-drops-facade-of-integrity-brian-flores-stephen-ross-accusations/

An NFL owner bribed his own coach to lose games.

Its been crickets.

No news stories, no investigations.

Owners will protect their own, even Dan Snyder and Ross and Kraft and the other 28 owners.

If Ross isnt being investigated for effecting outcomes of games, then nothing matters when it comes to owners.

Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner

"There is nothing more fundamental to the NFL's success -- and to the reputation of everyone associated with our league -- than upholding the integrity of the game," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a letter to Ridley notifying him of his suspension. "This is the responsibility of every player, coach, owner, game official, and anyone else employed in the league. Your actions put the integrity of the game at risk, threatened to damage public confidence in professional football, and potentially undermined the reputations of your fellow players throughout the NFL.

"For decades, gambling on NFL games has been considered among the most significant violations of league policy warranting the most substantial sanction. In your case, I acknowledge and commend you for your promptly reporting for an interview, and for admitting your actions."

Really wish some big name reporters would be making noise about Dolphins owner Ross bribing his coach ... but I guess the Schefters of the world suck at the NFL access teet.

I'm not so sure. On some level I expect the owners of Dallas, Phila, and NYG don't mind having one of their division rivals essentially permanently handicapped by bad ownership. And for that matter why wouldn't the rest of the NFC "like" having less competition in their conference.
