Really makes me wonder why Gibbs was so fascinated with Campbell. When he was at Auburn, I could never see anything that would lead you to conclude that he would become even an average NFL QB. That's one that I will probably never understand.
he is and has been an average NFL quarterback. he sure worked out a lot better for oakland than those palmer games i watched.
One guy that hasn't been mentioned is WR Malcolm Floyd out of Notre Dame... I know a lot of people on here are in love with Justin Blackmon... but Floyd is a monster. Great size, strong as an Ox, can leap, and has great hands.

I've liked him since last year.

When is he supposed to go? Late 1st?

I seriously doubt we end up with him... but I think he's going to be a good pro.
It's Michael Floyd. Malcolm Floyd is a Charger WR.

JC may be slightly better than he appeared based on his collegiate performance, but not by much. My view of him is slightly below average, but that's not really the point. Regardless, average or just below, neither category explains Gibbs' fascination nor the Redskins' investment in him!
JC-to-McNabb was a lateral move. A foolish, costly lateral move, but still a lateral move. Had we kept JC, patience with him would be wearing very thin by now and he might have lost out to Grossman anyway, just like McNabb.
I would have crapped on this comment two years ago, but watching Mike and Kyle work with these quarterbacks, I tend to think you're right. Campbell wouldn't have improved under Kyle Shanahan the way he improved under Hue Jackson. He would have just remained frustrating and have lost playing time to Rex Grossman.

Which, of course, would have been a way better course of action than we've actually gone.

It would be nice to have the 2nd round pick we used to trade for McNabb, We could have gotten Gronkowski, Taylor Mays, Ben tate, Sean lee, or terrance cody with that pick.

I know I shouldn't on the could haves.

Coaching changes could be coming.
2. Would it surprise anyone if changes were made to the coaching staff? No. And I don’t think it would surprise some of the coaches. Shanahan will address this, as much as he is wont to do, on Monday.

Some info that should make us happy, a good amount of play money.

I have been watching Texas A&M and North Western today, and news to me that Tannehill was on target with most of his throws. Quite a few drops on him. MAybe we should go Alshon Jeffery or Blackmon first then go Tannehill second. Thoughts?

Might not have a choice. But Alshon? No. Blackmon yes.

This

I love this strategy; Tannehill is on time and accurate and has high upside. He has played QB for only one and a half seasons. Also young man seems really composed in pocket but has some running/scrambling skills. Right now, I would say his skills are better fit in Redskins' scheme than RGIII. It's going to an interesting draft; looking forward to see which way we go!

Similar to bengals of last year. I would say it worked out, so why not.

the little bit I have seen Tannehill he has looked ok.

But if you look at the draft history of qbs that go in the second round almost all of them are backups or bust. Only four second rounders currently start in the NFL, Drew Brees, Andy Dalton, Tavrius Jackson, and Kevin Kolb. TJax should be a backup. Same for Kolb. Drew brees would have been taken in the first if he had been 5 inches taller (he was the first pick of the second round). Andy Dalton is the only one who seems out of place in the second and his career in the NFL is so young its hard to say for certain if he will be an overwhelming success.

Tannehill likely won't make it to the second round. He'll likely go in the top 15 to 20.

I would flip the strategy mentioned above - take Tannehill in the first and then take a WR early in the second or even trade back into the late first round and grab someone like Baylor's Wright.

Alot to be decided from now til the combine. But yes, IF MS likes Tannehill/Foles might be wise to go that route.

RGIII plays in a spread offense. It's tough to guage how he fits into a nfl style offense. Tannehill, from what I say today, looked pretty decent. He had one bad throw, but very accurate.

Should be a offseason to watch. Draft picks/cap space. Jenkins/Lightensteiger/Cooley should come back healthy. Gotta have another nice draft though.
