How good does Jason Campbell look right about now? Better than Grossman and Beck IMO.
I wish Shanahan would have had the balls to keep Campbell the way Harbaugh kept A. Smith. It would have made our draft strategy for the past two offseasons much better if we had not wasted picks on McNabb. Oh well, could've, should've, would've.

Not soon enough for me. I've seen plenty of Campbell and enough of Beck. Campbell is better.

Rex stunk but I suspect he will start next week.

Agree. Back up QBs always have a bit of an advantage when subbing in. Starting for the team after the opponent has time to gameplan against you is a whole different ball game. Yet I still think MS needs to make the call to start Beck ASAP.

I have a hard time giving a feck what Jason Butterfingers Campbell is doing today.
When he was here, he sucked.

I don't think I would say Campbell ever totally "sucked".
He just wasn't good, he rarely lost games for us, he rarely won them too.
He didn't throw a lot of picks, but he did take sacks...he was coached by Gibbs who told him to throw it away or take a sack instead of throwing into double coverage the way Grossman does chronically.

Campbell is a game manager and that is all, ironically, that is what we kind of need right now...of course better that that would be good too, which is what they thought they'd get with McNabb...if Beck can get to Campbell's level, I'd say we got a steal from the Ravens when we got him.
I sure hope Beck can manage a game without turning the damn ball over so much they way Grossman does

Unless Ryan Kerrigan turns into a year-in year-out All Pro, (and I think he could), not taking a QB in the last draft might be legitimately questioned.

Especially if there's still not going to be a QB worth taking next year. How long can you go without even starting to look for your quarterback of the future?

I've seen this new phrase several times in the last year...can you let me know what "this" is short for?

I understand it means "I agree" but it must be short for something.

I think more often than not you need a quarterback to go out and win the game. That's what separates the playoff and championship teams in this league. Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rivers aren't "managers". You put the ball in their hands to score points and get the win.

A "game manager" would not have helped today. We were behind, couldn't run the ball, and needed two scores in the fourth quarter just to tie the game.

No way, Kerrigan was the right choice. The QB last draft class wasnt very good. We made the right moves in the draft.

This year's top prospects are much higher quality guys IMO. Much better.

You have to debate Ponder/Gabbert at 10 vs. what we got instead, which includes Kerrigan, Hankerson, Gomes, and Hurt.

One thing about Shanahan is that he will not take a QB unless he's truly a skilled one. That's why Cutler is the only 1st round QB he has ever taken.

This is true.

And Ponder presumably has not shown enough to unseat DMac5. Gabbert has played poorly. So if we were looking for a QB for RIGHT NOW, neither of those guys would have provided much of an option.
