Days of Thunder's Cole Trickle is loosely based on Tim Richmond. Watched 5 minutes of Outsourced, thought that was 5 minutes too many. The movie was more than enough.
I've been kind of lukewarm on 30 Rock lately too. Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother seem to be the only sitcoms I watch regularly now |

Season 1 was kinda slow to develop, but I thought it really hit it's stride in season 2. |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
This season, I'm continuing to watch Chuck (fantastic show), Sons of Anarchy, and Law and Order SVU. Although I'm not a HUGE Law and Order fan.
And I'll admit that I do enjoy watching the biggest loser. Kind of keeps me on my toes with my health. |

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
I can't wait for The Walking Dead on AMC next week. I've always loved zombie movies and AMC has been cranking out great shows lately (except for The Prisoner). This one looks like it could be creepy as hell.

After you heard he was leaving before the season started, didn't it almost feel like he was going to die when you saw him the first time on the first episode this season? Maybe it's the anticipation that one of the best TV characters of all time (in my opinion) is going to be gone? I dunno. |

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Anyone see 30 for 30 about Tim Richmond this week. Very good show. I've heard of the guy, but never knew anything about him. Great driver who like to party (who didn't in their twenties) too much i guess. Drove alot like Dale Sr I guess. Brought back alot of memories about the AIDS scare of the 80's. It's amazing how little info we had back then.
I'm putting two and two together and although they didn't say it, I guess some of Days of Thunder were based on Tim Richmond? Not all, but some similarities. Anyone else see it?
Yes, I thought it was an excellent documentary on the late driver that died young at age 34 of AIDS. I fondly remember watching him drive back in the early-mid 80's and he was second only to Earnhardt Sr. in terms of brashness. Richmond was not the typical "good 'ol boy" from the south, which caused some friction behind the scenes. But, he added some additional excitement to the sport with his flashy personality and made no apologies for being the lady's man (which unfortunately cost him his life). The dude could wheel a race car too and was not afraid to put a bumper on big bad Dale Sr. Miss personalities like that in NASCAR very much. It used to be fun to watch but has now become controlled way too much by corp. America. |

Did you catch Rubicon?
Yeah, I watched Rubicon. I thought it got pretty good at the end once they started explaining WTF was going on. It lacked a little bit of suspense and I wish the season (series finale?) left me a little more on edge, but I do hope they bring it back for a second season. |

If they kill off Micheal it HAS to involve something with his George Foreman grill by the side of his bed. |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
I want to see The Walking Dead too. Looks like it will be pretty interesting. Zombies are EVERYWHERE now. At least they haven't turned zombies into metrosexual gaybos like they've done with vampires. Vampires used to kill and pimp ho's until they found that one nerdy chick in town who happen to look like some broad they used to date in 1625 or something.
Oh the days of The ORIGINAL Fright Night. |
