We should have interest in Hankins. I’d be surprised if we didn’t call and try to get a visit.

Get it done Bruce

Scandrick would be a massive downgrade at CB from Fuller.

Hankins would be a steal.

I would sign Hankins to a 3-4 year deal and trust the FO to make the cap work.

Agreed on Hankins - fingers crossed!

Scandrick was NOT in the top 100 PFF 2017 CBs

This was my first thought, totally agree. I think they know they want DRC but they have to kick the tires on others and hopefully it pressures DRC into realizing they have options.

Why aren't they kicking the tires on any of the safeties left out there? Reid (well maybe I know for him) & Boston seem like good options. Can neither play slot? Any talented depth would go a long way for this unit because it's an injury or two away from being a liability.

I'm curious to see how things play out with Sua. If he stayed where would he best fit? Is he too slow for slot? Does he replace ZB on passing downs? If he's committed he could definitely help this defense, but if somehow they get a 3rd for him that will definitely help. We may even be able to fill the home in the secondary.

I am not sure DRC would be better than Scandrick. Look at his 2017 stats....1PD and 21 PD in 2016

Tre Boston would be a nice addition too.

I think Gruden’s comments on Montae Nicholson at the combine speak volumes. He called him the Jordan Reed of the defense, the guy whose range and athleticism changes what you can do schematically on defense.

I think they see him as not only their starter at FS, but a potential game changer. I think they have no plans whatsoever to pay for a starting caliber safety.

And I agree with it, personally. After the Raiders and Chiefs games last year I was on here saying he’s the best FS we’ve had since Sean. He covers ground, and it frees up DJ to attack.

The team would be wise to shore up depth. I’m not satisfied with Everett as the backup and I still assume Cravens will be dealt. But I don’t think we need a starter I think Montae is our future and so do they.

1. We have 2 big ?s at slot and outside corner. Yes we have Moreau, Dunbar, Holsey, and Sua but not one of them has shown starter ability consistently.

2. Nicholson, Swearinger, and Norman are a strong starting group, but what are the chances that all 3 stay healthy all year?

IDK bout anyone else, but to me this is an area that I think we need another viable starter or it could become one of our weaker units quickly. Another starter and it's a strength with Tashkent developing. I'm not sure either DRC or OS are more than serviceable veteran depth and leadership. I think if they come in we'll potentially see them help early as rotational vets but struggle when asked to play more snaps due to injuries and the young guys being forced to take a large volume of snaps before they're ready. Another strong starter would likely lead to a smoother transition.

Well Moreau hasn't really played yet, Norman and Swearinger were healthy for the majority of the season last year. I feel we will sign DRC, getting Allen and Ionnadis healthy will help the secondary as well.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

It might coincidentally shake out that when we are on the clock at #13 CB, Safety and Dline will be BPA.. That is not a bad thing since slot CB and LG are two greatest needs.
The holes at slot CB and LG need to be addressed with strong talent or it will be a long season.
