Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I never said Big Cuz was another Tom Brady. I pointed out how even an all time great needed help from his run game and defense when he was getting his feet wet.
So if Tom Brady, one of the top three greatest QBs of all time, needed help when he got started we can't fault Kirk Cousins because he's not a one man army and needs help, like 99% of all field generals.
[emoji106] |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
As bad as the first 3 games have looked, Kirk's rankings on F.O. are encouraging and a good sign in my opinion:
FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | QUARTERBACKS 2016 Kirk is 13th in DYAR and 15th in DVOA. He is ahead of some pretty notable QBs and has looked like dog crap. If, and it's a big if, our redzone efficiency was a little bit better it would be a much different narrative. This is something they can improve with personnel we have by not committing stupid penalties and calling fades over and over. |

Drive stats. The offense will be top tier if Jay and McVay and Kirk can get their crap together in the red zone. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
The last 3 games.
6 tds to 2 ints and has a great completion %. Time to pay the man IMO. Yes he throws some ints but you have to take chances in order to get big plays. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

At the beginning of the season, we all predicted we would be 2 - 2 after the first four. We are still on pace to 9 - 7 or 10 - 6. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk has silently had an incredible couple of weeks. Last year he didn't round into form until mid season. Hopefully this year its smooth sailing from here on out!

I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows
I'm not worried about Kirk, I'm worried about the Run game. Kirk is a good QB and he will keep getting better. Brees wasn't great until like year 4 or 5. Also Kirk's INTs were low last yr and has only had 2 in the past 3 weeks |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
:saywhat:You guys are killing me that say pay him after 4 weeks:saywhat:
Stats dont mean shit,RG3 had good stats. He had another costly int Sunday that gave Cleveland an easy TD that luckily the team was able to overcome by getting some turnovers in the 4th,and it's a good thing because our defense wasnt stopping the Browns without those turnovers. Kirk's problem has been consistency, how bout we hold off for a while before saying pay the man. |

He never, ever had the accuracy or quick release that KC has demonstrated. I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows |

I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows
That for the most part is true, when watching highlights from his first year he was pretty damn good with his accuracy and getting it out quick, after that it fell to shit, but that wasnt my point. My point was a lot of RG3 defenders would point to how good his stats were, and stats mean nothing when they come at the wrong time of the game. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Point of order: playing under the franchise tag means you are forbidden by the CBA from negotiating during the season. We cannot negotiate with him AT ALL until after the Super Bowl.
So stahp it. Just ride the season out and see how he does. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
And fuck RG3 already

They help in making a more objective appraisal of a players performance. They also provide a broader perspective on a player when his stats are compared to those of his peers. Here are some of Cousin's stats and rankings so far this season: Total Yards: 1,172 (6th) Completion Pct: 66.2 (13th) Yards per Game: 293.0 (6th) Touchdowns: 6 (11th) Interceptions Thrown: 4 (12th) QB Rating: 91.8 (13th) So, let's just say that Kirk is the 13th rated QB based on the above numbers. I just can't come up with a another solution that is likely to produce a better QB than keeping Kirk Cousins would. He could be a Top 10 QB by season's end and that is very hard to find. Nevertheless, I agree with you that there is no reason to lock him up now. |
