Not blaming him at all for the terrible defense...
But did Kerrigan even get one tackle today?? Did he play?? Don't even remember seeing him today. Was he there? |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Right, and TO is the equivalent of US T-Bills? Absolutely not. Let me drill this into your head. EVERY move in football carries a degree of risk. You cannot avoid it, but can sure as hell manage it and figure out how to maximize your returns. T.O will not help us in anything but the short-term, and even THAT might not work out, i.e Randy Moss in Tennessee. With Hankerson, he MIGHT fail or he might step it up and succeed. Right now, no one but the coaches really know. Next year though, his outlook will become more clear.
Considering he was on the practice squad and ran around like he didn't know what the play call was, I'm going to think the coaches think he's not prepared to play at the NFL level right now either. |
I hated him. Kinda still do. The Panthers are playing to his strengths. I wanted Andy Dalton.
I bet you do!!!!! Lol, Orakpo looks overated, not much yet......... Why is reed D. On this team....... Who is he blowing...... Oh. ^ |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
My hat's off to Cam Newton....excellent job for a rookie, he shredded our defence today making plays a rookie QB wouldn't normally make. Maybe our defense is not as good as we thought they were.
Someone get SBXVII A Rex Grossman avatar please.
Beck played better today then Rex has all year. I really do think our offensive play calling might be the worse in the league though. Just seemed like in the first half we were scared to let go of Beck's leash a bit. Obvious Bootleg calls getting the QB punished, Torain losing yards again.. I think we had, what? 6 dropped passes today that were wide open? Two by Gaffney who is suppose to be our possession WR? Hankerson runs some sort of go route like he doesn't even know what he's doing out there lol Austin looked sharp and Paul made plays when the ball came his way. What bothers me, and iv'e been saying it all year is we let teams grind on us on defense and we don't make any plays anymore. Teams can just chunk at us all game and I really think that kills our offense because our offense never gets into a zone being off the field for so long
This is something that's been bothering me. Look at Tampa last year, they go youth and they let them play. Let's see if Paul and Austin have anything. Worst case scenario? They both suck and we try again. Best case scenario? One of the two put up 400-500 yards and we look forward to another offensive threat in our future. It never hurts to start early. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Our Secondary is awful. Mark down a Loss against Buffalo and a Loss against NE because of them. Also we are getting the injury bug big time. Hightowers probably out the year. Hello Royster!

I agree. Newton was pretty damn good out there today. But jeez I think Tim Ryan has a hard on for the guy. All they did was talk about Newton all damn game long. |

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
If you guys are bickering about a WR to drop, you can start with Brandon Banks. Guy hasn't done a god damn thing all year. A wasted spot for sure.
|
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Yeah.. Austin catches EVERYTHING. I have yet to see this guy not catch anything around him. He's also fast... This could be his chance to shine with Moss hurt.
Gaffney is just Gaffney.... Average WR.. Should be our #3-#4 |
Everyone is frustrated but I'm pretty sure everyone didn't have this team winning 10-11 games. Right? Our 3 wins were not against top teams. To me this is still a 6-8 win team.
Hmm, honestly, I did. My List: Giants- win. we suprise them. (done). Cards- win. their not that great. (done). Cowboys- loss. their house. (done). Rams- win. their not that great. (don). Eagles- win. our house. (fail). Panthers- win. new QB. not a good team. suprise. (fail). Bills- win. their not there yet. 49ers- win. no QB. rookie HC. Dolphins- win. they just suck. Cowboys- win. our house. Seattle- win. Seattle sucks. Jets- loss. Play off team. Patriots- loss. play off team. Giants- loss. their house. Vikes- win. McNabb...nough said. Eagles- loss. their house. I could see 11-5. That was a big cushion so if we started losing games we'd have room. What needs to happen now is we need to: Beat the Cowboys at home. Beat the Eagles away. Beat the Jets to make up for one of the other losses. Beat the Giants in NY to make up for one of the other losses. and stay the rest of the course with the other teams. the Bills, 49ers, and Seattle will be tougher then expected. I said at the beginning of the season I could see 11-5 but 10-6 or 9-7 was a better number. I felt this is a better team then 8-8. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
The one thing about this team that stands out more than anything is we really don't have a great player. We have good ones, but not a great one. We need some difference makers on both sides of the ball. Especially on offense.

lol I really want Banks to do well and I like the guy, but yeah, he's starting to turn into ARE when returning kicks and punts. But at least ARE was versatile as a receiver. Banks is starting to make me think he's a one trick pony. And the tricks don't seem to be working really well anymore. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
same story every year for a long time now .. a decent defense that shows flashes of greatness.... but lets us down wen it really counts .... an anemic offense with piss poor play calling and time management ... referees showing us zero respect and continuously calling absolute shit games wen we play ... and another losing record prolly... oh the glamorous life of a redskin fan

Yes it does. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Wow talk about two crushing injuries -- Santana Moss and London Fletcher. Those are the only two guys you can count on week after week.
Shanahan just said Moss is out minimum one game and probably more with a broken hand. Fletcher has a hamstring injury and nobody knows what kind of a timetable that can be. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Paulson stepped up nice as the replacement for Cooley. Hankerson needs to step up or the team needs to bring up the other WR they put on the PS. Austin has done well but I hate the we need 5-7 yrds and the WR only goes out 2 yrds and gets stuffed. Austin should have gone 7 yrds on his run instead of only going 2 or 3 yrds and getting stuffed.
I totally agree with YAC but when your 3rd and whatever the WR needs to get beyond the 1st down marker and the QB needs to throw to someone beyond the 1st down marker. |

Fred Jackson and Frank Gore are going to run all over our defense. |

Also at Seattle is not an automatic win. Tough place to play. We're simply not good enough to walk on the field and beat anyone. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I'd seriously take a look at T.O. and possibly think about a 10 game contract and review how he does to see if he's worth keeping. or just don't resign him because we all know about T.O.'s second year anywhere.
Fred Jackson and Frank Gore are going to run all over our defense.
Our problem is not stopping the run. The Skins have done well the first part of the season. It has more to do with having a really good RB and a QB who can run for yrds (ie; Vick, Newton). The team can't cover both for some reason. |

Perfect time to get Riley on the field and start playing. Time for Paul, Hank and Austin to get more time. These are players that are the future, not Moss and Fletcher. |

Clipboard Jesus stunk it up for Seattle today, so who knows. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
This team needs a guy who can spark the offense much like how Cam has done for the Panthers. Im guessing we will have a lower teens draft pick and in good position to find a QB. Finding a solid no 1 receiver whether its through FA or the draft should be a close priorty behind QB.
We need to get some serious depth at Safety as well. Laron and OJ cant seem to stay on the field together. Reed is a nightmare. Haslett should be embarrassed in how he prepared the D today. Really poor. Id consider seriously cutting Barnes. Another f*cking bullshit pick. Guy is pos player |

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I don't think this team will be poor every week. They're just not consistent. One week we're going to see a game like today's, another week we're going to see us go toe to toe with a team better than us. I'm just preparing myself to "stay medium" week to week. One thing's for sure though, in between the injuries and bad play I don't expect us to go on a run this season.
