Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I mean if it's not lack of talent, it's injuries. If it's not injuries, it's luck. If it's not luck it's something else.
We'll have the most talented team in the league and then half of them get hurt. We'll have the healthiest team in the league and every Tony Romo fumble will bounce directly back into his hands where he throws a ninety-nine yard TD. We'll have the luckiest team in the league and then have tons of injuries or eventually get exposed for lack of talent. Ugh. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
This was the worse game we've played all year defensively.
|
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I just can't think of another team that crushes their fans more than the Redskins...
Highest ticket prices.... expectations every year followed by crushing embarrassment of performance. Look at the Bills, Lions, 49ers... even Raiders... things are changing for the positive even those places... Here?? More flat out laughing-stock football. |

Well if you wanna press your luck on a WR who had catching problems, even throughout college, be my guest. I prefer someone who's proven that they can at least show flashes of consistency. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Any way we can get Brandon Banks the ball on offense. He is most explosive player at the wr spot.

no kidding. Instead of getting better as the season wears on, we're regressing. Same story EVERY YEAR. |

woow, seddle down cowboy. Rex was only providing 2 turn overs a game no different then what Beck did today. and.... I don't even think it was all on Rex for those turn overs. Before we go of all cocked and bring up the 4 INT game keep in mind Beck will most likely pull one of these out of his hat too down the road. Why? because it's not the QB play so much as it's the WR's. Not sure why but they just are not getting the job done or running right routes or fighting for the ball. and honestly had the Panthers CB actually been paying attention to the ball that he should have caught in the 1st quarter we would be looking at 3 turn overs by Beck in one game. really no difference to me. Pretty much the team traded trash out for trash. Unless you want to admit it wasn't all Becks or Rex's fault for the dropped balls, and INT's where the WR fails to make a play. |

Don't worry, Hankerson will just end up another Malcolm Kelly/Devin Thomas. Hopefully we'll make up for this in next year's draft. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
And that's game. Good therapy session folks. Meet back here, same time next week right? We'll have some highs, some lows, but life will go on.

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Redskins- 0
Rookie QB- 7 |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Everyone is frustrated but I'm pretty sure everyone didn't have this team winning 10-11 games. Right? Our 3 wins were not against top teams. To me this is still a 6-8 win team.

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
C. Ponder.... 2-for-2 for 79 yards and a TD Pass....
Tebow with 15 points in last 2 mins to force OT... wins in OT... Redskins.... stomped by 1-5 team with another Rookie QB owning them... lol |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
The Redskins are now 0-7 vs Rookie QB's thats just a sick stat.
|
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
with the way we are playing, Id be suprised if we reach 7 wins. Shannahan has alot morework to do than we originallly thought this year, and that is the bottom line.

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Beck was ok today.....Fred is going to be something! We are.....hurting on D secondary. I really thought we would fare better on D...
How's Fletch? Jamal Brown? Hightower? Etc???? |

Why in the heck did we draft him then? [/quote] What I cant understand is how you can be a WR, but your main problem is catching the ball or running routes? And how do you get drafted in the 3rd round? Dude is a f---in BUM, and I say this taking in consideration that he's a rookie. |

I felt like this was an 8-8 team, but those 8 wins would be more likely against the crappier teams than against the better teams on our schedule. So it's kinda thrown out of wack when we lose to a bad team on our schedule. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Hard to know who has more of the blame today. Defense has been giving us every chance in the world over the last few weeks, but finally gave out today. And naturally, the offense is NEVER up to the task.

Oh but he's Roddy White in the making. Just give him a few years. |

I'd rather not have a player who will probably be retired by 2013 and contributing NOTHING for us then. You're wasting a roster spot for what? One extra win? The first-step of field a top tier team is finding a good deal of LONG-TERM assets with potential for LARGE returns, not constantly grabbing short-term players with lesser returns. T.O's close to done. Hankerson might not be a superstar or even very good right now, but he still has a CHANCE at this point in his career to become that elite WR we need. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I have a question. Even if we do get a rookie qb next year, how do we know he will fare the same as the other rookie qb's in the league. All the other rookie qb's get the playbook scaled back to make it easier on them, and their playcallers put them in position to do what they do best. Kyle S. hasn't exactly shown that ability so far.
|
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Where is the sad...... What we did positive thread....... I'm glad Cam torched our ass, cause he wasn't good, his accuracy is bad, he is a bad kid...... He has only won, and been found guilty of nothing...... Nut the Shanahans bet our season on Rex and Beck, which who cares if he played solid, we LOST!!!_!
|
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Beck threw it well in the second half. Sean Locklear shut down one of the best rushers in the game. A couple of offensive bright spots in a sea of suck.
The defense gave up 30 points today, which wasn't good, but if they could just recover a fumble sometime, they'd have given up like 2/3s of the points they have this season. They are close to being a great turnover defense. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Someone get SBXVII A Rex Grossman avatar please.
Beck played better today then Rex has all year. I really do think our offensive play calling might be the worse in the league though. Just seemed like in the first half we were scared to let go of Beck's leash a bit. Obvious Bootleg calls getting the QB punished, Torain losing yards again.. I think we had, what? 6 dropped passes today that were wide open? Two by Gaffney who is suppose to be our possession WR? Hankerson runs some sort of go route like he doesn't even know what he's doing out there lol Austin looked sharp and Paul made plays when the ball came his way. What bothers me, and iv'e been saying it all year is we let teams grind on us on defense and we don't make any plays anymore. Teams can just chunk at us all game and I really think that kills our offense because our offense never gets into a zone being off the field for so long |

Or he could just be Devin Thomas. You like playing that risk/reward chance card. Most people don't come out and end up being like Cam Newton or Darelle Revis and just naturally being a beast, but you can at least get a good feel for how they're going to be by watching them play. I don't get good feelings from Hankerson. I didn't in college. I didn't in pre-season. I don't now. |

With the black cloud that seems to hover over this team, the rookie QB that we draft next year will look every bit like a rookie QB -- it'll be back to normal after a blip of unusual success for 1st year guys. This team will re-set the trend. Count on it. |

Right, and TO is the equivalent of US T-Bills? Absolutely not. Let me drill this into your head. EVERY move in football carries a degree of risk. You cannot avoid it, but can sure as hell manage it and figure out how to maximize your returns. T.O will not help us in anything but the short-term, and even THAT might not work out, i.e Randy Moss in Tennessee. With Hankerson, he MIGHT fail or he might step it up and succeed. Right now, no one but the coaches really know. Next year though, his outlook will become more clear. |
Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Good can be taken out of this win. It brings our defense back to reality and it makes it clear that our passing attack doesn't work.
