A pox on you, Dorf! Now I must begin my quest all over again. This makes one.

I'm not criticizing Chinn, not everyone we pick up can be an upgrade. Curl is better, far better, and I'm not the only one who thinks that, as outside of many Redskins fans (since yesterday) everyone thinks that. He is a fine tackler, but he can't cover, he never could even in the 2020-2021 seasons. They used him more as a hybrid LB/SS in 2020-2021. I'm sure the coaching staff knows that and will use him appropriately.[/quote]

I'm guessing DQ sees him as a better fit for his defense and the role he wants him in.

Need to add edge as a need too (and that is also deep).

@JPFinlayNBCS
Talking with @mike_e_kaye about new Commanders LB Frankie Luvu: "That guy is a game changer and a play breaker...He is the ideal guy for a double A gap blitz...He's extremely versatile...He can really make things happens...He will disrupt the offense more than he wont."

More from
@mike_e_kaye on new Commanders LB/S Jeremy Chinn: "A guy that's a tweener safety/linebacker...A seek and destroy player that should be close to the line...Not an interchangeable safety, he should be in the box...Sometimes versatility can be the enemy of progress."

Concur with both these assessments. I think Luvu is the most sensible (ie best) signing since Fletcher. And yes that is what I've been trying to point out about Chinn.

Love to hear things like "play breaker" ... seriously.

And similar production at a cheaper cost without long term commitment

Jeremy Reaves coming back on a 2 yr deal

There are still T's available, and potential LT starters in there. Yes, Smith may have injury question marks, but he had a return to form last year. Then there's Williams, who has flexibility, so if ew draft an LT he can play RT. Or Josh Jones who basically got stuck behind Tunsil but is well favoured.

I wouldn't be surprised to find we've been in a bidding war for 1 or 2 of these guys and something will happen by the end of the week, one way or the other.

Very happy about this. An easy guy to root for. I’ll bet Tress Way is relieved too.

Well if Davis can't learn/get inspiration/take mentoring from Wagner he's a lost cause. On paper this is the best LB crew I can remember in Washington, so here's hoping reality mirrors that paper!
