So, I'm going to be the resident conspiracy theorist for a second. If these free agents, of whom the 'skins drafted and developed, sign with other teams, I know the 'skins get compensatory picks. However, is there a certain amount of time in which that goes away? For instance, say Breeland or Grant don't get picked up until the middle of the season, what does that do for the 'skins getting a compensatory pick for these guys? I'm asking because I wanting to learn how this works. Do they need to get picked up prior to the season?

Here are a few other players who I think could help us as bargain pickups:

G/C Matt Slauson. He has great size at 6-5, 315. He has been solid throughout his career. Matt suffered a torn bicep last season but if he checks ou medically, he could be a starter here, IMHO.

NT/DT Bennie Logan. He is a run-stopper. He doesn't provide much help against the pass, but we have other guys who do that. Bennie is durable and he's only 28 years-old.

RB Orleans Darkwa. He's 5-11, 219 at 26 years-old. He is a very tough runner who was effective behind a poor OL. He's a good ST guy, too.

Ryan Grant's situation seems a bit bogus IMO.
