Trade 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 third, Jamaal Brown, DHall, Santana to Indy for the first pick. If they don't accept it add in Orakpo. If they don't accept that then f*ck em! We'll take..I dunno who.
If they don't accept, let's put a poison pill in Dan Orlovsky's contract! Time to play hardball.

Orlovsky might actually be the best FA QB that no one actually wants. Even better than Rex, who, at least I think no one wants.

Let the rumors begin!
I swear, these articles sometimes make it sound like we got Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders last year. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Four of the top-QBs selected in the 2011 draft were picked in the first half of the draft (Newton 1st, Locker 8th, Gabbert 10th, and Ponder 12th overall). Andy Dalton followed being selected 35th overall, in the 2nd round. It seems like a shortage of "elite" talent to go around in this year's draft. Still, only a few teams will need to reach for a QB in the first round as they'll have prospects that play other positions rated higher on their draft boards. The Skins are in a good position to get one of the top three QB prospects having leverage to trade down from 6th overall since there is a perceived "dropoff" in talent when comparing Luck and Griffin III to fill in the blank.

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
For me, it's always informative to hear what the great Joe Gibbs has to say about the Redskins:
"Generally for me the number one thing you want to try to do, whatever the cost, is try to solve the quarterback situation, get that thing solidified," he said during an appearance on ESPN 980. "I think the Redskins are going through that process, [to find] a solid starter that’ll be in there every game for them, somebody they really can say can take them to the promised land." I just glad that Joe took the time to back me up on this issue. Now, with the authority of the great Joe Gibbs behind me, I'm going to tell you what the Skins are going to do about the QB position and what they are not going to do about it this offseason. You wouldn't argue with the great Joe Gibbs, would you? Of course not! So don't argue with me. 1. The Skins are going to get a long-term starting QB this season. 2. They are not going to put a band-aid on the position for another season. 3. They are going to pick a QB in this draft, whether or not they sign a FA or trade for a veteran to be the starter. Joe Gibbs and I have spoken! So let it be written. So let it be done. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
It has to be realized that the Skins would have to have a trade partner for such a high pick.

Yes, add Claiborne in there. Some mocks have us w/ Claiborne although not sure I see that. Area of need, yes, just not sure if we'd go defense again. |

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I could smack the shit out of Cam Newton for being so damn good this year. it has driven the price for RG3 up, and here's the Redskins, with the 6th pick, always on the outside looking in. I mean, I think its not out of the realm of possibility to think that if Cam Newton had that prototypical rookie year, say he threw 8 less TD's and say 5 more int's, and he didnt rush for so many damn yards, that the barometer for RG3 wouldn't be so high. I cant help but think that people look at RG3 and see the following............correct me if I am wrong.
1- A Very humble, intelligent, young black quarterback that has pocket presence, very similar to Cam N. 2- An arm that might not be as strong as Newtons, but can sure get the job done nicely. He can also improve that aspect as well with some strength training. 3- A qb that makes good decisions in the pocket, and some would say is an even better pocket passer than Cam Newton was coming out of college. 4- A qb that is very very fast and mobile, with High agility, ala Cam Newton. 5 - A QB that has elite accuracy, which RG3 has shown he has, and someone whos accuracy doesnt take an absolute nose-dive when out of the pocket, ala Cam Newton. With Cam Newtons performance this year, and with the absence of Matt barkley and Landry Jones in this years draft pool, I can almost assure you that RG3 is going to be the 2nd pick in this upcoming draft, sort of a 1b type thing. If whoever is currently holding the number 2 selection doesnt want him, someone will put a HUGE amount on the table for him, and here is the rationale in whoevers teams mind in doing that, and making that move......... "If Cam Newton can do what he did with Carolinas ridiculously low talent squad, what could RG3 do with the pieces I have here?" and only time will tell if that rationale is flawed. |

RG3 has torn his ACL at least once in his career. Cam is 6'5 250, RG3 is "6'2" 220...Cam can take those hits and make those cuts in the nfl, RG3 may blow out his knee game 3 he's more fragile and frail than cam. |

You might as well be describing Tannehill, with one inconsequential difference
