You know something just occured to me.

If Dallas is able to squeak out a win this weekend and KC beats NY, those two circumstances will force me to be a Redskin fan for a week, since the Giants come to FedEx on Christmas Eve.

Thats a scary thought.
Yeah, but when we beat Y'all and then shit on the G-Strings and Eagles we will win the Division with a 5-1 division and 6-2 conference record.

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)

I think Rogers will definitely be fine. A little biceps problem is not a huge deal, at least you can run. I'm still concerned about Springs, since he has groin issues.

But honestly, it's nothing short of HUGE for us to have both Salavea'a and Griffin playing in this game. When was the last time that happened? It's been a while. I think the Cowboys are going to have a very hard time running the ball on us. Hopefully we can muster up enough in the pass coverage department.

Also huge is Thrash playing. Jacobs is lousy as a #2. Thrash is mediocre as a #2. That little upgrade may be enough for us to run a few 3-WR packages. Those are the packages when we may be able to get #89 open for a game-breaker.

But forget all that other stuff, I'm just happy Big Joe is going to be out there. I love that guy, he's so damn fierce!

looks like everyone who isn't on IR will be ready for this game. This is the way this type of game has to be played. I know that there will not be any ref **** ups and that this game will go down to the wire. GET READY FOR ONE HELL OF A GAME
No excuses now. Everybody is playing - at the start of the game anyhow. Wash didn't look good in Arizona, and Dallas hasn't looked good on the road all year. The offense hasn't looked good on the road since SF in Sept. If this game turns on anything I agree with whoever said it hinges on turnovers.....
Turnovers will not be a burgundy and gold issue this week.

Hmm, "Wash did not look good in Arizona". I was at the game, second row 35 yard line and I seem to remember an incredible defensive performance against the NFL's best passing attack. Rogers 9 solo tackles, says enough for me. Pressure was above average on Warner in a nickel/6 DB set. We'll have Bledsoe begging for retirement sunday. Pray he does not get a TheisMAN payback by Marcus.

WE'LL HAVE DALLAS

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)

I think Thrash will be tremendous, just because of his experience and his feel for also getting open and coming back to the QB if the play breaksdown, something many critics have said Jacobs lacks. He is not the greatest but we forget he was the # 1 receiver for the Eagles the years they went to the NFC championship game and can hold his own, just not real explosive #1 guy. He is very dependable. Barring turnovers I love our odds in this game. Springs is the only one who concerns me on the injury report.

That is great news about Pierce not serious, but enough to keep him out for a while. When he went out that is when Phili made there come back last week and they mentioned how the Gints D was out of place in the second half. Think that is a bad sign for the Giants. Pierce can play and is a true good linebacker and the centerpiece for their D. Down with the boys then to a more promising game with the Giants.

I think that we might see Taylor involved in more coverages than normal this week to compensate for banged up corners. Which I kinda want to see anyways. He would instantly become the biggest, and one of the fastest corners in the league.

I agree about that. If turnovers are not the name of the game, I really like our chances. If Brunell didn't throw all those INTs against Arizona, it would have been a rout, something to the tune of 30+ to whatever they had.

That's interesting, as I was listening to the local ESPN affiliate in SW Florida. He is a huge NYG fan. His prediction for the division winner, is the winner of the Skins/boys game.

It will be great to have the D-line back

I also think the winner of this game will be the division champ, I do not like the Giants against the Chiefs with a beat up D and Eli who has not played very effecient the past couple of weeks with quite a few mistakes. This is a big game for KC chance for the playoffs as well. Chiefs are going to kill them on the ground this week. Then I also like the chances of us taking down Giants on Christmas Eve.
This week will tell alot about the playoff picture for the NFC. One thing though that a lot of people have not discussed is the coaching, if I am not wrong Parcells has a fairly good record against Gibbs, they are very evenly matched I think personell wise and curious if anyone thinks Parcells just has Gibbs #, the numbers don't say so when you look at overall accomplishments, but maybe someone can find that stat as head coach matchups between these two.

Did some research on NFL.COM and found that in Head to Head games it is 13 games to 7 in favor of Parcells. That dates back to 1983.

Nobody can beat Arizona by the grace of a spectacular defensive effort, throw three picks and call that looking good.

The NFL's best passing attack?!?!?! Arizona??? I think not.

Arizona !!!! Tell me which one of you didn't have that pencilled in as a win the second the sched came out.

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)

ok this topic has made a complete 360 and yes arizona is the best passing attack but thats because a the don't have a running game the worst whe ever seen so they have to pass and B becasue they are almost allways WAYY behind and have to play cach up. So that really isn't a good referance.

remmember the NFL grades only in yards don't take count for all the aspects of the game but hey they're the 17th passing defense with an average of 200 yards per game and thast after they faced you and you could only put 122

Also before the game Ari had a -7 turnover margin and they pic brunell 3 times

Call it whatever you want, but the Cards do have the most productive passing attack in the league right now.

Boldin & Fitzgerald are sick at WR and a handful for any defense.

5RINGS 12-15-2005 12:11 PM

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)

Yeah it is true that Boldin and Fitz are really prolific, but look at that team. All they have is two wideouts. That is all you have to scheme against. Three/maybe four man rush then 7/8 deep.

Springs (groin): "I'm starting at left cornerback Sunday and will be at full speed."
Rogers (biceps): "I'm straight."
Harris (ankle): "The bottom line is I'll be ready Sunday."
Salave'a has missed the last two games with a foot injury but said he took all of the practice work yesterday.
"It was good to be back out there with the guys and go through a practice," he said. "Most likely, I'll be out there Sunday. They'll have to lock me up somewhere to keep me from playing."

Oh yeah, I know!!

By the way, I think you should put the Arizona trio against the best in the league - to further the argument - and the Dallas Trio is not the best in the League.

Manning - Harrison - Wayne, or Brees - Gates - McCardell.

EManning - Plex - Shockey maybe..

bledsoe over Warner every day of the week I would choose fitz and boldin over KJ and gleen jsut because of age and current talent.

But you can say the same about your team Brunnell, moss , trash or warner, fitz and boldin I believe yours is even more obviuos

Thanks for the info, also Redskins.com just posted a article about the two headcoaches and it had the record. Maybe they are looking at our questions over here at the Warpath and writing articles. Maybe the warpath is the real Redskins partner site and not extremeskins. They made a very good comparison between the two coaches and the time span between 88 and 90 I think they said Gibbs had 6 straight losses to Parcells. Since he is back we are 1-2 straight up against Parcells. It seems the coaches have alot of respect for each other, but really don't care for each other.
Will we see the all famous Monday morning Question Parcells better than Gibbs, Discuss? Funny as hell, let me answer it though with my opinion Gibbs kicks parcells ass and evens it up at 2-2 and takes us to the playoffs. This one I surely won't forget for a long time to come.

I knew there would be no way they would stay out of this game.

But I still would be concerned, what did you expect them to say? "I feel like crap and can't play at full speed" -or- "We'll see how I feel Sunday". Biggest game of the year for their team and will be nationally televised to boot. They are playing. And you are right, good heart in all three for being there for the team. Does not matter what color the jersey, you have to respect that.

you're confused... having a negative turnover ratio and getting some turnovers are totally different animals... yes they got three picks, but they gave up 4 TOs (and we had a shot at 3 more) and walked out of that game at a -8 TO ratio, which means we made it worse and rendering your point, well, pointless.

UNCLEAR----do you mean why don't we line up the cards trio against the best secondary??? BTW, I was at that game and the turning point(in my opinion, of course) was that 4-2 stuff. Sun Devil stadium was truly rolling burgundy and gold.

Downgraded Skins

All week the Redskins' top three cornerbacks, Shawn Springs (groin and back), Carlos Rogers (left biceps) and Walt Harris (calf) have missed practice and were listed as probable.

Then on Friday, Rogers was downgraded to questionable, missing his third straight practice. Harris and Springs practiced for the first time, and would appear to have a good chance of playing against the Cowboys.

Also downgraded from probable to questionable were linebacker LaVar Arrington (thigh) and safety Matt Bowen (knee).

Harris started nine games this season before the rookie Rogers took over the starting job. The Skins list Ade Jimoh as their only other corner on the roster.

Offensive tackle Chris Samuels, still listed as probable with a sprained knee, also missed his third consecutive practice.

That Guy 12-17-2005 05:03 PM

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)

samuels will play, we have a reasonable backup for him too... lavar's backup is beyond terrible and ade has traditionally been a running joke among skins fans, so there you go...
